asking for prayers
3 years out and have a call back on mammo for additional views with an ultrasound immediately following on Friday, May 6th, 2011. Feels way too familiar. Lathering up with lidocaine for those lovely additional side views that really are the closest to a vice. Feeling doomed, yet some how relieved. The idea of being off the roller coaster kind of seems like a relief! Knowing what to expect and being able to plan with out feeling yanked around all the time kind of seems .... well....I'm OK with that! God'w will and lot's of prayers please for God's will! Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone! Had a weird dream last week. I was in the airport with my fiancee (i'm married) and we were trying to get to the terminal on time to get to our wedding destination but his old girlfriend kept showing up and delaying things. She showed up in the rest room, everywhere and kept me from getting to the terminal time after time. I finally got fed up and threw her out a window to her death (I'm not a violent person). Finallly we were almost to the terminal just in the nick of time when the security showed up to arrest me. As they spun me around to handcuff me, there she was standing in front of me with a seepish "I got ya" grin on her face, back from the dead. I woke up totally confused. Never had such a weird dream in my.life. Then this morning I got the news and the dream made sense. My husband and I just got bact to making plans for our future, having solid concrete goals again, feeling safe again and off to live out the rest of our marriage. She???? She's the cancer.
Dreams! Powerful stuff. But such symbolism rarely makes sense until it does.
Keep praying. It was just a dream.

May I add, sweet dreams to you! Enough of the bad ones!

Apparently the prayers worked and it was all a big mistake. Although I am elated and thoroughly surprised to find I am just fine, the hospital mispoke when they called to schedule "Additional mammography views, followed immediately by an ultra sound". It was just an ultrasound. Just a doublecheck. I had myself dead and buried for a week because of a poor description of why I needed this call back! Went straight to the records department after and got the radiology report. It did not recommend anything more than an ultrasound, because I am at high risk for recurrence. All I hear is Cha Ching for the hospital! I'll be contacting a hospital CEO or board member and let them know the teror those words instill in a breast cancer patient and how they should choose them more carefully.
But, WOW! I feel like it's a small miracle at the same time! Thanks everyone!

I've been away from the internet for a while and coming back to BCO, the first thing I saw was prayer request on the LE thread. So that's where I head.
Now I can add prayers of HALLELUJAH!!

-
Doe,
So happy for you and DH! After 20 some years of those terrifying call-backs, they finally said, "Cancer." And my bilat has brought me much peace. 5 years yesterday, no mammos, no call-backs, and no cancer. A little LE, but I'm lucky compared with many, so I'll celebrate with you!

Thanks everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day! I sure did. Hubby and I figured out it's the only special occasion day left that isn't tainted with cancer memories! So glad I get to keep this one untouched. Especially this one!
Dawn,
So happy to hear of your bilateral success! But most of all I want to thank you for the validation. So many people think we're nuts when we say this is a journey that never ends unless you die of something else. Once you get on this roller coaster, there's always that fear lurking in the distance.
My God! We are so courageous! Aren't we?
-
Yes, we are Doe! I'm delighted that your life seems to be getting back on an even keel. I really admire you!
Dawn
