I've been careful. Lots of water, no heavy lilfting..blah blah blah.

My reconstruction surgery is in a week. Now my left arm is painful!!!!  The pain started last Thursday (but I had a mandatory conference over the weekend) and I finally called for an appt. today.

It may be nothing- I took up knitting about a year ago for "mental health" and when I started all the muscles had to adjust and were sore; and when I stop knitting for a few days my muscles ache, and until 5 days ago everything had been fine.

I woke up and noticed the pain immediately.

I have pain in my forearm, the muscle pad between my thumb and index finger and now a spot is starting to hurt up in my bicep area. I am also having trouble extending my arm and rotating my wrist. WTF?

If I massage my hand the pain stops, but the forearm still aches.

 /CRY

I need hugs, and cookies.

Regul, you sure do need hugs and cookies!Frown Chocolate cookies at that!

I wonder if you've had cording before in your arm? Here's information about it -- the pain, trouble extending and rotating sound like that:

Please keep us posted. Be well!

Regul, so sorry for the trouble you're having...are you on tamox?  Tamox can cause blood clots...I've already had to go two different times over the past year to rule them out with my LE arm...but the discomfort and swelling I was having was just good old LE.

Please talk to your dr. and get him to rule out the clot and then get him to refer  you to a good LE therapist - one that has all the certs. needed - you can find out info. on this on the same website Binney gave you.

Hang in there - if it is LE, it's doable and treatable, and although it sucks majorly, you can handle this.  KissI'm sending you lots of cookies and hugs!!!!!!!

No cording, and not taking Tamox. I've been keeping an eye on it and it is not getting any worse, but still bugging me  :(

I had tightness like that and after I went to physical therapy, it helped quite a bit.  I saw someone who was trained specially to deal with bc patients.  She did massage on the areas that hurt and I think broke up some scar tissue.
