🎻Vcom is one of my favorite sites! I don't twitter or text very often (only when I need to get my son's attention) so I would never think of # as anything but a musical sharp...🎵

Just popping in to say HI!
-
Hey ladies! We're OK after the storms earlier in the week. Lost power M&T but no damage to the house.
-
Can you believe it?!?
First of July, and I'm wearing a sweater!
Not complaining, just observing. Better than 95* with high humidity, right?
the Weird Weather State.

hi all, I'm loving this stretch of weather. Cool nights good for sleeping, cool mornings good for walking, warm afternoons good for gardening and napping. Grilling out. Fireworks on a soft summer night with a Leine's Canoe Paddler in-hand. Life is good! ♥

Hi Nagoskwe. Welcome to the club that no one wants to join.
You will find lots of caring and good people here on the different sites. I saw you posted elsewhere that you were concerned that this would be harder on your family than you. Yes, probably. That is usually the case. They are trying to be helpful and worrying about doing the right (or not doing the wrong) thing. We are busy in the middle of the battle, like warriors. All in all, this will be a good experience for them in that they will become stronger and their hearts will be kinder. Or, if you happen to have a "loser" in the bunch, maybe not so much. Don't worry about it. These things bring out the best and worst in people.
Advice from one who is older (and maybe just a wee bit wiser?): Let/ask people to do things for you. It makes them feel good to be needed.
Where in Wisconsin are you?
-
I like the easy sleeping weather, but I'm ready for some warmer days. Shouldn't be too much to ask to be in the 70's in July.
Wow the fireworks on the lakefront for the 4th were spectacular. What a treat.
-
hi all and welcome Nagoskwe. I'm in southwest WI in the beautiful Driftless region.
kmmd it's supposed to heat up starting tomorrow so I'm enjoying one last cool night. :-)
Anyone planning to check out Art Fair On the Square in Madison this weekend? ♥
-
badger I've gotten used to this year's forecast: they decrease the expected high temp by 5 degrees about every 4 hrs. I just keep reminding myself :
--it is good sleeping weather--my container tomatoes are growing well so far even if they got a very LATE start because they're liking the cool sunny weather--
and more importantly--if my husband hears me complain about the weather one more day I'll be looking for a hotel room to stay in for awhile!
HA! That resolution lasted until we only hit 71 degrees for about 45 min today then dropped down below 70 again.
...my tomatoes are growing...my tomatoes are growing....my tomatoes are growing.....
-
Hey to all my Wisconsin friends here.
Got one question though.... Whose idea was it to send 90 degree weather and humidity my way for Sunday?
-
Don't look at me, I just wanted it out of the 60's
-

Hey all, summer finally arrived with a vengeance! Go outside and hit a wall of heat & humidity.
Enjoyed the cool spell while we had it and can't begrudge the wetness when so many are dry.
Hope everyone stays safe during the summer storm season! ♥
-
Haven't been outside yet, but I'm sure its already a warm one.
-
Today was hard to beat
-
keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for the air show this weekend
-
Heat wave finally broke yesterday! Glad its cooler again!
-
ktym, where was that view from? Looks like it's near the river. We were at a senior-send-off dinner at the Milwaukee Rowing Club right near there last night.
-
If you have facebook, I think you can see this video. Awesomeness by the Badger Band for a chemo gal :-)

That was great!
-
zogo I could have waved to you we were so close! We were up on the hill by the music in the park. That is some of the condos on the river you're seeing in the picture in the front and the marsupial bridge just to the right. I think the views up there are some of the best in the city.
That marching band is awesome. How sweet of those students to do that, and her niece to arrange it
-
hi all, just back from vacay out west visiting family.
That video is GREAT! Makes me proud to be a Badger.
Here's if you're not on FB:

Looking ahead to a worthwhile event in autumn at Milwaukee Marriott West.
Stillwaters Cancer Support Services Harvest Ball.
These people provide free counseling to cancer patients and their loved onesMark your calendars for

Thanks to OncoWarrior for keeping us up to date!
Another event I just learned about, for anyone interested in peer support regarding hereditary BC issues/genetic testing concerns: the SE Wisconsin FORCE group is reactivating with a meeting at the end of next month (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered is a national effort whose original members had BRCA mutations - their website is quite useful for those in that situation)
I also figured out how to make it rain. Instead of washing the car, try watering all plants in your yard with a hose...
-
Here is another thing that may be of interest to people in the Milwaukee area:
Expressive Arts Open Studio (art therapy) at St. Luke's hospital.
It is free, and on the second and fourth Fridays from 2 until 7 pm.
It is open to patients, family members and caregivers.
I just started going this summer and find it to be very soothing and healing experience.

The Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival was a lot of fun. GREAT music at a pretty site by Lake Waubesa south of Madison. It's inexpensive and very family-friendly; a couple held their wedding reception there Sat night! Yes, it was hot but there's a big tent and lots trees for shade, a bubbler to fill up water bottles and stay hydrated, and a nice lake breeze. The all-volunteer crew does a fantastic job. Will definitely make this an annual event!
-
hi all, hope this finds you well and enjoying the cooler weather!
Mary, this is for you: a really fun version of the Champagne Galop

The weather here in CT has been much better this week. We've been getting a touch of Fall temps here in the mornings. Kids in the neighborhood are back to school this week.
-
hello Wiscie ladies!
sadly i had a terrible fall June 15th - broke my upper arm, dislocated & fractured my knee and had some vascular surgery on lower leg - sooo i have been in a rehab facility. Hopefully home in the next couple weeks but it will be a while before i'm out & about. There went my summer!
hope you ladies have enjoyed your summers & are doing well!
