Just wondering how many of you had clear.bloody nipple discharge as your symptom of dcis??

no i did not. Mine only seen thru  routine mammo. Any nipple discharge is worth finding out why that is happening. I'd consult ur doctor.

Ok, just looked at ur other post and obviously you've seen doctors. Sorry u are going thru this. One thing I did have was a change in nipple color on my affected side. When I had my BMX the final pathology report said Paget's disease of the nipple. It's a rare breast cancer, but usually indicates other underlying breast disease. My ob/gyn initially dismissed this change but I had my routine mammo the next month and the DCIS was found. Nipple discharge is a symptom of Paget's disease. Reads like u are on the ball and getting it checked out. We are our own best advocates. All the best to you!

Hi - I had no symptoms either... I had a breast MRI to satisfy the genetic counselor (because my dad had bc) and there it was - DCIS and of course that was confirmed by the biopsy..  So absolutely no symptoms and many years of "clean" mammo's..  It's a sneaky disease.. it (DCIS) didn't show on a regular mamo, a digital mamo or a sonogram just on the breast MRI (and they were all performed within a few days of each other)...  don't know if that helps or not but there it is!!  Take care, Deirdre

Forgive me if this does not make sense - I am awaiting biopsy for suspicious calcifications. The last year or so I have noticed that my right breast did not get pms symptoms. My left breast would get sore and full and the right one seemed like it did not respond at all. I thought it was strange but now I am wondering if it was an indication of a problem becuase that is where the suspicious calcifications are.

And maybe at this point I am just paranoid. I have dealt with alot of fatigue too. Does any of this sound famliar to anyone?

I had discharge out of my nipple but I have had this since I was about 8 weeks pregnant with my son back in 2003.  At that time, I had discharge but only if manually done.  As it still is.  I honestly do not know if this was an early symptom of it...?  The only clue we had something going on was the calcifications.  I had no pain, no fatigue, no nothing.

I had DCIS grade 3. It was 4.5 inches and discovered 8 months after my annual mammogram. Very aggressive.  And I wanted to know why it was not discovered.  No answers were given. I had calcifications about 12 years previous. I had 5 months chemo, double mastectomy then 5 weeks radiation.  I am about to celebrate my four year boobaversary.

I have had the fatigue for sure.  I just had my lumpectomy on the 13th they said they got it all with clean margins.  I meet with the oncologist on the 4th.  I am pretty nervous about the next leg of treatment.  I believe it is radiation and tamoxifan.

In 2007, I had a green discharge from my nipple when by breast was squeezed or sucked on my current boyfriend at the time. I had a mammogram and saw some specialist that I don't remember. He was rude and ignorant. He failed to do any testing (there are tests that can be done without surgery. He should have done some sort of wire thru the nipple down the duct to pull some cells). He told me to stop letting my boyfriend squeeze my breast or suck on it and sent me on my way. The green discharge never went away. In late summer 2010, the discharge turned bloody. In October 2010, I felt a large lump. I went to the doctor. He felt the lump and said it didn't "feel" like cancer and took a relaxed approach. I was told that cancer usually isn't usually some and has "fingers" that jutt out. Well, he was mistaken. I was told by the head of one of the local oncology clinics that  DCIS in its true form will not have  fingers and will be smooth because it follows the milk duct. In fact, I said mine felt like a sausage link in my breast. I still think to this day that had that dr. in 2007 done that testing that should have been done, he would have found precancerous cells.
