Parlodel Drug

In 1992 I had my first child and decided not to breast feed. I was given a drug called Parlodel to dry up my breast milk. Has anyone on this board diagnosed with ILC/LCIS taken this drug?

When I had my second child in 1996 I was expecting the same drug. The nurse said Parlodel was no longer given due to health risks. I never asked what the risks where. I wonder if it was for breat cancer.

Btw, my signature is incorrect, my oncotype score was 22. Does anyone know how to change the signature?

This Mayo website says parlodel is now not generally advised to stop lactation because of increased risks of heart attack and stroke, particularly if you had hypertension during pregnancy. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lactation-suppression/AN01456

It looks like Parlodel has been tried in some studies in (usually advanced) breast cancer.  I don't see obvious references that suggest Parlodel *causes* breast cancer.  Most of the studies that looked at using Parlodel for breast cancer were done at least 10 or 20 years ago, and were used when patients had too much prolactin in their body. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11452236

I haven't studied this closely, so I may be wrong, but I don't find any obvious studies that suggest Parlodel causes breast cancer.
