My second round of breast ca - last was 18 yrs ago, treated with lumpectomy and radiation ,have been ca neg until last month.  I don't understand my path report and have trouble reaching my dr:  My NCG Nuclear grade is 3 (high), mitotic rate 2, 11-16/10 hop, tubule formation 3, minimal.  Histopathologic grade is III.  Does this mean stage 3 cancer?  Prognosis?

A radiologist sucked the specimens out, so I don't have a surgical specimen with margins reported.

I can only answer one thing and that is that grade 3 does not mean stage 3.  Grade 3 means it is a type that is likely aggressive but it doesn't mean it has entered your blood or lymph system. You need a lot more information from your doctor.  It seems you should still have a lumpectomy to assure clean margins.  If a radiologist was able to suck all of it out, then at least you know it isn't large.  Please persist in calling your doctor.  There are also places on this site that explain your path report and I think you will find that helpful.

I agree with raincitygirl.  You need to get a DOCTOR to see you (preferably a breast surgeon, or a general surgeon at the very least) to interpret those findings.  It sounds like you just had a biopsy am I correct?  How did a radiologist do this? Did those findings go to your primary care doc or someone else?  Once you have a doctor's consult you will have a better idea of what you are dealing with.
