JUst had breast MRI. I can't even begint to say how I feel. FIrst, the tech had me put my face down into this hole that stunk of bleach, so I asked if I could do the test with my head turned sideways because the bleach smell was making me queasy. Sure, she said, and we got positioned. Test started. She said I was doing a great job at keeping very still. Then she said we'd be starting a 20 minute segment of the MRI. OK, she did it and told me it was blurry and we'd have to repeat it. She made my arms more comfy and did it again. Nothing much was said again, and the MRI continued, with a reminder to keep very still. I did. At the end of the MRI she tells me the 50% of the MRI was BLURRY!! And that she doesn't know if the doc will be able to read it, AND she suggested it might have been because I had my head turned instead of straight down. Why the heck ddin't she ask me to change my position? Why didn't she try to get rid of the bleach smell? Why did she inject the dye knowing a lot was blurry? Why the heck did she continue at all and not stop and correct things? I'm SO not a complainer, but I called the head of radialogy and they were upset and will get back to me. THis was an important baseline breast MRI. I feel like I went through it for nothing, unnecessarily! SUre, it can be done again, but that means more of my time, my poor 12 year old son waiting in the waiting room for me (I homeschool him and DH happened to be home today so it was perfect), more dye shot into me, adn less trust i the medical system. I'm SO sorry to complain. OK just heard from head of radiology. She said it's an adequate study. No need to repeat. I think I see about 100 more gray hairs! LOL Thank-G-d this one worked out. I will report back on breast surgeon follow-up appointment tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for listening guys!

Nan----I'm so sorry you had such a difficult time with the MRI, but very happy to hear that it all worked out in the end.  I usually have to wait 3 to 5 days for my MRI results; this last one (a month ago) I got unofficial results in 2 days, confirmed on day 3. Praying you get good results soon.

This stuff is upsetting enough without technical (or technician) problems. Ugh!! I'm glad it turned out readable. My dh and son came with me for my MRI, too. We all pigged out in the cafeteria afterward. And I mean pigged out! I don't know why, but that MRI made me so hungry. Hopefully, they will just go ahead an read the films ASAP to make up for your troubles. Ack! It's a holiday weekend. I hope that doesn't mean the radiologist will be out on Monday. Keep us posted.
