SAVI experience?

I am having the SAVI catheter placed this week - anyone get radiation treatment via SAVI?

Thanks Applejax! Any advice? I'm really anxious. Was it awkward walking around with the catheter? Were you able to wear a bra? How was the fatigue during and afterwards?

Soccermom it was ok i could wear a bra but it was easier with a sports bra that hooks in front so i wouldnt need tape. yes i was tired ,from what ive read about side effects from rad treatment i dont think this is any differant its been a little over a month for me and im still feeling some of the effects.

I learn something new everyday, first I heard of this one.  Sounds better than whole breast radiation or are you doing both kinds?  Just wondering. NJ

I had the treatment in Feb 2011. For me the worst part was having to stay away from home. The treatment was not offered locally but I was able to stay in the Hope House sponsered by the American Cancer Society. It was a God send. The treatments we not painful. I was tired by the 3rd day buy I think it may have had something to do with having to get up at 6am every morning for my 745 treatment. I am a night shifter and dont routinely get up this early. So I was virtually in and out in 5 days. I arrived on Sunday and left on Friday evening after my treatment. My breast looks great. It was weird having the apparatus implanted and every time I look at an egg whisker I think of it(that is what it looks like) but it was really not bad at all. I had webbing they gave me to wear instead of a sports bra which I tried and it was so much more comfortable. Dont wear any binding clothing. I feel very fortunate I was able to get this behind me so quickly. Now I wish I could get this Arimidex treatment under control. Anything I can do to help let me know.
