PAIN IN BREAST THAT'S GONE

Options

Ok, I had a bilat mx 2 yrs ago with immediate DIEP reconstruction.  My bc was DCIS.. Lately (and seems to be getting worse) I've had much pain and aching in the breast that was cancerous. I haven't had any pain for the past 2 yrs and this has been going on for about the last 3 months. . Now, it's hurting in my arm.... I know nerves can still be mending but with it hurting more frequently, I am now more aware of the pain and wondering if "it's"  back.

Anyone else have pain after their mx?

Hi Mikita, I have pains too but I'm inclined to believe it's because I'm lifting weights. Are you doing anything different?  Gardening perhaps, or weights. Let's hope that's what it is.

J9W: Hello! No, no exercising (shame on me!) and doing nothing different. I dont' feel any lumps or anything (well, 2 small ones that were 'sonogram'ed last year. Said probably neucrosis).  Do you have sonograms or mri's or anything of that sort? My oncologist says they're not necessary but I see others on here who have them.

Hi Mikita5,  I was on tamoxofen but quit it in October 2010 b/c of bone pain. Now I have a six month split of mammo followed by mri.  And because I still have bone pain, bad in the hip, I just had a nuclear bone scan and all is good.

Great news with the nuclear bone scan!  I know you were very relieved. I started tamoxifen but after about 1-1/2 weeks, oncologist decided I didn't need to take it. I was thankful for that...

Well, I had a chest xray today. We'll see what that yields, then wait to see if oncologist wants any other scan.  Fingers crossed!
