Post biopsy question

I had two wire guided excisions in my left breast on 4/1.  The one is healing just fine. The other one, on the other side of the breast, is still hard like a rock in some areas, and bruised to high heck (We are talking purple from under my arm, to nipple and down to the underside of my breast).  When I had my MRI today, the tech was taken back by it.  When I saw my new doctor on Monday, he said it was definitely badly bruised but nothing abnormal.  The surgeon who did the biopsy was not concerned at all when I saw her on 4/8. She said bruising did not concern her, only infection and I show no signs of infection.

Is this normal?  Did you bruise this badly after your biopsy?

Oh and on an amusing note, I tried googling how to make bruising go away faster, and the second link that popped up was an adult spanking forum.  I about busted a gut laughing. I couldn't look away, it was like a train wreck. I'm sure this is not very appropriate for me to share, but laughing is so important to me right now.

I was badly bruised after three MRI guided biopsies and it stuck around for a while. Mine was a lovely shade of  green. My PS gave me Arnica Montana a homepathic med that helps eliminate bruising. I took it a few days before surgery and a few days after and amazingly enough had NO BRUISING from any of my surgeries. I am not sure where you can get it but I would check with your docs. It looks like a little sugar lump you stick under your tongue till it melts. Nothing to it.

    Good luck in your healing

Diane, I will ask my uncle about this. He is all about homeopathic meds.  I'm just tired of looking like frankenboob.

Letlet, I've let this bring me down too much and that is not me. Now, I'm letting my humor take over :)  I would much rather laugh then cry.

I bet the folks on the spanking forum have some useful ideas.....

I bruised quite a bit but all the docs said it was normal. I just waited for it to go away, and it eventually did.  I never even thought about anti-bruising remedies beyond ice packs, wish I had.

    Best of luck!!
