Anxiety from the unknown

Options

I am going to the breast surgeon tomorrow for a LARGE lump (on the outside it feels about 2 cm wide and 5 cm long) found in my breast last month.  Radiologist couldn't find anything and said it was "fat"  I am having a hard time accepting this especially since I have had chronic shoulder and upper back pain on the same side as the lump for 6 weeks now on top of a deep ache in the area of the lump.  The lump went from being on the "smooth" side to lumpy in the last few weeks and is hard which has sent me in a further tailspin.  I have a painful knot on the bottom rib on the right side and have been feeling nausas for the last 10 days, especially after eating.  Also have been expierencing dizziness and a pins and needles feeling...Husband was supportive in the beginning but thinks right now a lot of this is "in my head"...I just don't feel right and think this IS cancer and it has spread...I'm only 30 and besides myself right now with fear :(

Hi NJ,   I'm sorry you are having to go through this !  When I found my lump back in Sept., I knew it was cancer.  That being said, I think it's almost natural to jump to those conclusions especially with so much in the media about breast cancer.  Some of the symptoms you're having might be from anxiety over it all, so it might help to try to do some of your favorite things to relax ( not easy to do I know ) ... for me it was going for a walk, listening to my favorite music, playing with my kitties, doing some yoga / deep breathing, going to a movie, etc.  Hopefully you'll find out it's just a fybroid, but if not, we're all here for you.  This is a great place - I've been on other sites, but the girls here are the best !

    ( hugs ),   Sue

p.s. Please let us know how you make out !

Breast Surgeon is doing an excisional biopsy on both the large mass and the small mass they believe to be a fibrodenoma on Wednesday.  Basically it is either fibrocystic changes or cancer.  I think it is cancer mostly because it seems attached to the chest all and although I can feel the top of the mass it "blends in" at the bottom.
