Is this Fibromyalgia?

Hi All-

I have read many posts on this through out the site but really never considered for myself until recently. I am a 3 year survivor of Triple Positive bc. It seems like about every 3 months after treatment ended I would have something that felt like I got hit by a truck. I would have horrible back pain and neck pain sometimes hurt all through out my body. My fingers, my kneecaps, my jaw, etc etc. It felt like I was getting the flu. I visited my DOCS and they always put it down to recovery from treatment or the instant menopause I was put into as a result of ZOLADEX shots. (I am not on an AI) just no estrogen with the Zoladex.  The interesting thing is in-between these 3 month periods I would feel great, take care of 3 kids work, volunteer, lead a very healthy lifestyle. Then BAM out of nowhere I would start with a little pain somewhere and then my whole body aches.

This time it started as headache in my left temple, I thought it was brought on by BIKRIM YOGA positions and engaging my neck incorrectly. I went to the chiro and  he felt C1 and C2 being rotated and mentioned yoga was his biggest patient load in terms of injuries. I started feeling better went back to yoga on SAT and woke up on Sunday feeling like I was sick all over. I couldn't leave my house. Now in retrospect I think back and this is how I feel every 3 months or so. I am a pretty healthy 45 year old, and I exercise daily, and have been doing intense bikrim every other day for 3 months. In addition I run and lift weights.

This is the first time I can honestly say that Mets is not on my mind I don't think it is that and had a great check up 2 months ago. This is different and just wanted to ask the Fibromyalgia question and was not sure where to post. Any info all or specific experiences would be very appreciated.

    Hi,

I was just looking at fibromyalgia last night.  It doesn't seem to be a very cut and dried test to determine it, but the symptoms are fatique, deep muscle ache, morning stiffness, severe pre mentrual cramping, and headache.  Doctors test by pressing on points near the joint just under the skin if it causes you pain.  Seems a pretty loose test to me!  But it is unaccountable as to how often or when, but you seem to be on a regular 3 month cycle?  I might just call and ask your PCP if they have any thoughts or can send you for some testing during a flare up?
