Loverof life- oh ya I forgot to mention that book Walking in Circles for adults. Pretty funny but adults. I have gotten addicted to this series I found at a thrift shop. The No.1 Ladies' Dectective Agency, by Alexander McCall Smith. So far I have motored through 13 of the books in the series. They are such happy books, a little mystery, funny characters, a little of Botswana culture and a nice summer read. These books you could give your DD's to read. They make you feel good about life and the people in it. I am not much of a TV person and watch just about none, but i love a good story.

We went to Neskowin beach today and sat in the glorious white sand, under blue skies and breezy wind 75degrees maybe? My DH needed a sweatshirt- too cool! I was fine in a long sleeve shirt and capris.. perfect weather. The ocean lullied me into a nap...I can't not nap. Ohh what a treat a snooze in the sand.. warm sun.. a lovely day. Getting down the rock stair case was a challenge.. getting back up the stairs was harder...my joints are not what they used to be... but in all a perfect day. Howdy to all.

That sounds like a perfect beach day to me. I second the recommendation for the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency. The lady is interesting and there isn't much gore. I can't read really suspenseful books; they make me too nervous.

oh rose--that sounds like a perfect day! The best nap I ever took was on the beach 14 years ago!! Haha!

sounds great rose..happy for you to have such a perfect day. I listen to books through my I pad while I knit. I will look up those. I like historical fiction books

Rose, I have to look into the Detective series. Yup, there is nothing like the soothing sound of the waves crashing on the beach...better than any conventional meds for relaxation and sleep.

Mag, hydrogen peroxide works really well on blood stains. Both of my girls used to get bloody nose occasionally on cold winter days when we need to yank up the heater(dry air). I lose count of how many times I hadto clean up their bedsheets in the middle of the night.

loveroflife, I will let you know how it works out. My daughter is still laughing. I figured, why cant one if my prayers be, your in time out of bad stuff. Allow only good for awhile, we all need that. I think that's a valid prayer. Or maybe God also is getting a good laugh. But I do pray to him like I would talk to my friends

Morning gals! Yes Susan, it's like you don't want to ask for too much, because you feel like you gotta help out a little... But I ask for help, and patience with other things... And sometimes you just have to accept........ But mostly courage to deal with things that are beyond anyone's control... like watching DH, and this "age thing" that I know is just "one of those things..." But I promise him and HIM that I'll always be there.....

Rosie beautiful day, a nap on the beach. I remember a nap in a field when we arrived in Louisville for the Derby. At a friends farm, we all laid on a hill in the pasture and slept. Then we picked mint by the stream and made juleps.

Hopefully this will be my last taxoterrible. I hope to find out what my MO plans for the next 6 months or so.

Oh, trust me, I DO enjoy retirement! After 23 years of First Days, the first one I didn't work was strange. Now I see the busses and think, suckers. DD went back last Thurs, the kids start the 24.

Good morning ladies- my, my, we have been busy here last night!

Mags- sorry to hear about the eye problems. I had read prior to starting anastrozole that it can cause problems with the eyes. These AI drugs are not fun. I told my eye doctor a few years back during my check up after I started it about my bc and that and he said many drugs can cause eye problems. I hope you feel better soon. As one of my bco sisters often tells me, bc is the gift that keeps on giving......

Rose- what a lovely time you had at the beach. Napping on the beach is divine too. I am glad you had a nice day.

Good morning Lovely Ladies! Reporting in before work starts. Another scorching day here in northern Cal. No complaints though because i work indoors. Feelbad for construction workers or any one who has to work outdoors.

Susan, I always ask God to help me learn whatever lesson He is trying to teach me and to grant me the grace to deal with it. Never thought about asking Him to give Himself a timeout. Ha! I guess it's ok to ask for a break. We all need one.

Magdelend51- I also had what looked like a wad of black thread as a floater in my eye along with lots of tiny specks, so many that it looked like I was looking through a gray lens with the one eye about 1.5 weeks after starting anastrozole. I was on travel visiting my daughter and just waited for it to recede not wanting one more thing to impact visiting my grandchildren. I had a smaller one a couple weeks later. I haven't followed up on it not relating it to breast cancer or anastrozole. I will be making an appt with my eye dr this afternoon! I also found the study you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

Jazzy, re: the gift that keeps giving, Dr. Google and I are looking at long term lung toxicity from chemotherapy and Neulasta. I've had this shortness of breath/cough/wheezing/crackling of and on since October, toward the end of treatment, and it's gotten worse lately. When I saw MO this month I talked to him about it and he listened to my lungs and couldn't hear anything, but ordered a CT scan anyway. He said nothing is lighting up, but I know he's only looking for cancer. I'll see my PCP in 2 weeks and I'll ask her to look at the report.

When I was looking at the anastrozole-ocular issues, one thing stood out: we are so concerned with the primary issue - cancer - that we can overlook the secondary issues like eye and lung problems. But these are definitely QOL issues, and mine right now is pretty much in the cellar. Or maybe in the sewer. Somewhere under the subway instead of somewhere over the rainbow.

Hey at least I'm NED, right? I should be jumping for joy.

Rose, so glad you had such a wonderful day at the beach. Nothing like listening to the surf and having a warm sun and cool breeze bath you. So relaxing. Just visualizing it, I'm ready for a nap.

If nosebleed lasts longer than 30 mins. my ENT told me to go to the emergency room. I am notorious for having spontaneous nosebleeds. About 30 years ago, they were on the right side and were so strong the blood would come out my tear duct as well. Presented to the ER and was told that was impossible and they did nothing for it. Two days later, I was back again but had my ENT call ahead to say it is possible and to cauterize it. Now I get them on the left side and was told to use some vaseline as the membrane is so thin.

Mags- you don't have asthma, right? Your breathing problems could be from some other kind of resp. issue. Sounds like no mets so that is ruled out by the PET scan.

I had a similar concern this spring and they did an x-ray and nothing showed up. It was my asthma that flared up. Your PCP should be able to help you better now and they may send you to a pulmonologist. I read up on a lot of the SEs around lung stuff given I am vulnerable in that area. A lung specialist may be able to tell you better what is going on.

Not being able to breathe is scary, I hope you get answers quickly.

I went through nosebleeds this past spring, but they stopped. Always something to worry us.....

Mags, Could possibly be from radiation damage. They try to avoid lungs, but I think they can't totally.

Gypsy, one time in the summer sun, I was painting something white... no sun-glasses.... After awhile my eyes were covered with cob-webs! Scared me 1/2 to death....I called an eye doctor, and was driving there, when they left, just like they started.... I got there, and he said they were worried about it being a de-tached retina.... but just so bad for your eyes to do what I was doing....

I've had a floater years ago, but it finally went away....

I've been told that your body, and all your parts will try and heal itself.... if given 1/2 a chance..... We can help it along, but right away, your body will go into panic-mode, and start sending all it's good resources to the troubled part....

Am I dreaming here, or is this really true?

hi ladies, here's FeelingFeline and me. Got to meet her kids also, I brought my SIL with me. It was fun to meet and really enjoyed meeting them. Now I have met 2 BC sisters. One in my neighborhood and one 6,000 miles away!

We now know more about horse breeding then I ever wanted to. You know that rabbits breed then pass out after 30 seconds? Horses are similar, takes them about 2 minutes then he has to rest up for a bit to get ready for the next one. They can't use artificial insemination, so it's all natural. Poor things can service about 300-400 mares a season, which is about 3 months long. And to add insult the mares are mated again 14 days after giving birth! So about the time they have weaned the foal she's due with the next one. The stud fees range from €1,000 to €680,000. The stud farm only gets paid if the mare becomes pregnant and they only try twice.

Will have new pics tomorrow, we made it to Kinsale, Southern Ireland about 6. Tired and hungry, going to call it an early night

Spookie, Sassy, Frey - Joe Bastardi who some take with a grain of salt but I think he knows his stuff. Hinting at 3 somethings in the Atlantic next week. For us we're gonna get rain Wed. I pray. And cooler temps. Trade off, the high moved farther west. Just don't see how you can go from flooding to drought in 2 months but we have. Some of the lakes just opened up some areas this weekend. I need to start stocking water for the winter. Gozilla El Nino. I started drinking the tap water again some though do have a Brita pitcher in fridge.So I don't have as many used jugs I can fill up. I think they installed new scrubbers at the water plant.

Sassy - Aldi. I go only for a few things. Another friend on here says they have smaller whole chickens. Ours only has the behemoth 4 pounders like everyone else. They do have wonderful German chocolate. DH ate my choc/raisin bars, very similar to I think the brand is Cadbury. Yummy. Oddball stuff mostly. Hope you took your spare plastic bags.

Oh Smaarty looks like so much fun. Dare I say fun for the stud horse you saw also?? Glad you were able to meet up with Feeling Feline.

Yippee North Texas is in the phase 2 (of 5 phases) of Blue Bell restocking. Hoping to get phase 1 rolled out by Aug 31, Brenham, Houston and Austin, Texas, areas, as well as parts of Alabama (where the producing plant is).

Sas we have an Aldi here. Never went, on service road for 19. Heard prices are good, selection small limited, must bring own bags.
