Oh Yaaaaaaaaay! All my friends are back! I wish I had more time to just sit here, and read and remember every word you guys say! But NOW it is getting light out, and you KNOW what that means... gotta get busy out on my parking.... No, not the pole dancing, just scraping, digging, shoveling and cursing under my breath!

These damn people who plant "flower/weed" mixes should LOOK at what they become once in awhile, and thoughtfully take care of them! And when they willy-nilly throw seeds out on "public property" which we are responsible for, it becomes MY big mess... ! So oh well... nothing I can do about it except take care of it...

2222222222222222! My little Dumpling.... I just wish there was something we could all do to help those ones we love, other than have to accept what is going on, and learn to deal with it... When you are going through something like what YOU are, it just takes over your whole life...

And WTH is this about your HUSBAND? Is it legal to shoot him in your parts? I mean his parts? I'm just kidding, but if it ain't one thing it's another!!! So happy about your Daughter! Congratulations "Mom!" Live IS good! (in some area's)

Just come post when you can... when you have strength, I mean.

I'll get back to you Rosie and Marla and Spookie with the Thongs... (See, before they invented the word "flip-flops" for those shoes, they were "Thongs")... HONEST, and probably before any of you were born.......and Miss Sass, and HiHo, and Mom2...Kath, Susan and Loverly! And TANG!!! Hey girl!

What's this Susan? Are you some kind of model? You look DAMN good, girl! I love your hair! Is that a wig? It's so pretty!

Okay, I feel bad if I left someone out, but..You were all on this page, so I couldn't miss.... Oh HEY Dunes! Good to see you too.... Take good care girls!

2nd, sorry your mom is going through that . We are right in the middle of that too. And yes, it takes up time. I go through spurts of posting.

Took mom shopping yesterday. Her whole life was always Marshall fields and Jewell. Only places she ever went. So she is still comfy, in a way, going there. She isn't good, couldn't remember the day, kept asking what day it was, dint know how to pay for the frango mints, and so much more. Went to the cemetery after I dropped her off and cried by my dads tombstone. My brother never moved out so he is there, but he leaves her alone a lot. Got a neurologist appt for next Thursday, need a home evaluation too. Tuff stuff.

No Chevy...haha, no model. It's the best pic that I have of me recently, so I had to post it. It's actually my hair. Came back in with the chemo I am on now. Actually not all of it, my hair was always to thick, now I love it. Lays much better short when it's not big hair. Always said I should live down south with my big hair. Now it's normal, only normal thing about me. Lol

Chev, good luck weeding. Neighbors can be rude. Weeding is tuff enough, don't need anyone else's

    Happy Sunday all

The" I love your smile" was meant for you Susan. Hi1's and Tang's posts somehow was squeezed in above mine. So it looks like I was talking to an invisible friend (and no I don't have any invisible friend).

Hi1...how exciting it is to see a baby fox(kit, cub, pup). Where do you golf? In the wilderness?

Tang, lovely picture of your daughter(?). I love her spunkiness.

Marlana, last round of chemo this Thursday or Friday?

Ms CHEVY ( I don't know why autocorrect changes the letters of your name to all capital every so often)- you must have some defined muscles by now with all the painting, weeding, and gardening (not to mention carrying that heavy iron skillet ready to smack anyone who gives any of your 'family' trouble).

Ms. BLONDIE, hope you are having a good time and are well rested.

    Patty, how are you?

It is always nice that the sun comes out after the storm.

2x10-sorry about the current stress in your life. It is so hard when we see our love ones suffer. It is easier if we don't care and don't have compassion, I think. BUT, we are not made that way sigh.

They are very cool trees. Susan your picture and hair is very pretty! 2ndt- wonderful about your DD getting her act together and I am so soory about DH being despondant and depressed that he can't find a job. I know many folks in that situation and it's heartbreaking. There has been some economic recovery but nearly enough to absorb older workers. My Dad used to use an angency called "40plus" to find older more experienced workers for jobs he had with his business. He was so pleased with some of the temp workers he got through the agency. This was years ago. Do they have anything like that in your area, something geared to older workers?

Hi Patty, Marlana,Sass, Hi1, loverly, Mamaray, Momof2,2nt, spookie and all I have forgotten--- Chevy the city knows you love your neighborhood and have pride, so they left beautification to you! Sorry about the weeding. I had a yard service gal call our front yard an "eco-yard." I asked what she meant.."only about 10% grass the rest is flowers and what most call weeds, but in your case it works" Our moto..if it's green and short it stays. The yard is full of cammomile, tiny violets in purple and pink, aguga (sp), little white flowery plants, all maner of tiny interesting green things. We hardly ever need to mow and the yard is very green, infact the folks across the street do chem lawn /water incessantly and our "eco" yard looks much better then theirs. Ha revenge of "weeds."

Rosie, you come by the Irish legitimately then. Glad you got the Mexican Irish thing. He said it in the 60's. Not all the cousins were born yet. The earliest cousins were born in the 30's. Last was born in the 70's. Irish anything was noisy and dangerous. Believe it or not, I stopped going back to help on St. Patty's day. Too far out for me. The trouble was by too many pretenders of the day.

Goodprg, your post was perfect timing after mine with the dancing, laughing, drinking etc.

Susan did you drop some speed in your water for your bike ride? The tomato toss--such fun and such a great pic of you and Claire. Love your hair. I found some brain do you want me to mail it?

December was this too much for you?

Loverly, you got it too. Sometimes my subtlety is too subtle. Check the topic box later.(Susan too) What's the backstory on the Poland crooked trees? It's okay to have an invisible friend, honest. We understand.

Spookie, thanks for taking care of that. The ice chair, yes, do you think having one during sale open house would sell a house faster? All that rain is going to mess with insurance rates for years and years. Ducks not a good sign, but reduces the drive time to the local preserve.

Hi1 sad about the kit. Maybe if you call the local zoo they can find a sanctuary home. Go ahead and tell us about BlueBird. It's important. Please.

Tang, You're daughter is beautiful. Did you plan the Rosie the Riveter thing or was it happenstance. That was such an iconic pic.

222222, glad to see, you. Sucks the chit is still going on.

Kathy, happy days. Kids in from japan and super soakers. I loved the ball and the arrow ones too

Marley so many thanks for finding FBB's pic. Means allot.

Morning LMG, up with the roosters today?

    YOOOHOOO JWOOO abd Dutchy

    Chevy , Queenie Hootie hoo

Susan- scientists don't know for sure, but they think that it was manipulated by man. They think that the process was interrupted by WWII. This is a cut n paste from an article I found:

"Oaks from the areas of Northern Europe were fine for the development of long straight planking, but the gnarled English "Hedgerow" Oak was the best for the natural curved timbers used to strengthen the ship internally. Trees were even deliberately bent in certain ways so as to 'grow' a needed set of curved timbers. These curved timbers were known as 'compass' timbers."

Sas: Sorry, what? I couldn't hear you over my invisible friend and Lover's singing "Good morning, good morning!" Thank deity they've moved on from "Finnegan's Wake". That got old by about two in the morning.

Today, I think i shall attempt to separate the mass of morning glories and trailing nasturtiums duking it out in my front bed. I've been distracted from my garden for a couple of months, and the neglect is starting to show. The roses in the back yard are big enough to hold their own by now, but the ones in front are waving little flags of distress. (thinking several thoughts connecting this to cancer and treatment, but not sure how to phrase them in a wholly diplomatic fashion)

Image result for tree stump furniture

1974, we'd been married a few months. No money. Efficiency apartment. Convinced Dh to pick up a freshly cut tree trunk like the above. 160 pounds>>>>through the parking lot and up 2 flights of stairs>>> A man with a big saw came and straightened it out,now 125 pounds, back from parking lot and back up the stairs...DH loved me allot LOL. 25 coats of polyurethane and sanding between each coat>>used as a coffee table, then as a side table, then later in the bedroom.>>>>the stump went to Florida State Univ. with DS in 2003>.then to law school in 2007>>2010 it went to his new job with him in Tampa, he put it in his office>>>>>Two Christmas ago, he was given a collage pic, from everyone in the office, at the office party. The collage was of office staff and the stump. Over the preceding year when he was out of town, they would take the stump on adventures. The stump was taken to the beach by two of the gals. They didn't consider trying to get the stump in and out of the trunk(4x's), from the parking lot(4x's), over the dune(2x's), and onto the beach. I imagine they will be laughing forever. They put an umbrella, glasses, and a drink on it. Another adventure was to the local Irish pub that was the gathering place. All are around the stump(they named with the first two letters of our last name Sp + stUMP) with a brew. A pic with the senior partner sitting on it talking with Steve. An inauspicious pic of it on the toilet Ds frequented in the office. Who knew people had favorite toilets? There were many others. He is so proud of that pic. Can you imagine they're were about a dozen and a half directly involved. Also, the spouses, GF's, and BF's that he saw throughout that year.. All kept it quiet till that night.

I LOVE Banyon trees! Saw my first one on Singer Island in Florida! Just AMAZING! And it had a huge stag-horn fern hanging in it!

    image

So now I have yet ANOTHER idea! I am trenching along the sidewalk and curb... On the curb side, I will plant CHICKENS! I have a million of them scattered around! That will help hold the mulch-bark, off the sidewalk! Then I will place flag-stone pieces in back of them... like a little walk-way... That way it won't look so "plain"...

I also have little 4 to 5 inch tall pieces of plastic "fencing" to put-together, against the curb, so the mulch won't fall off the curb... A little at a time...

I came in and turned the bed-room around.... Don't you get tired of the bed facing the same way? I dusted under and around everything, but with this Laminate, I have hardly any dust! Just have to wash the bedding.... Take a shower, and then I'm happy! Man, I feel like I should take a swim in the ditch!

ML hellooo , KID? LOL. My stump was early. Then the whole artsy thing got going. Still laugh how much Dh put up with getting the thing. Just a few years later wouldn't of been easy to get him to do it. :) I agree on what it turned out to be. When DS told me the Christmas story, he was blown away. They give out gifts like so many others. He realized they by passed him. Being new by just a few years, immediately he was concerned. Then this big to do with the presentation, that everyone was in on. Yeah, cool. Asked him if he'd ever get rid of the stump "Never".

A good thing about tree furniture-  cheap and they take a amazing beating. Krips, it survived 7 years of college

I am on taxol and while my hair has thinned, and I cut it short...halfway through treatment I still have plenty of hair to not need to cover my head. If I get one more " but you still have hair" "or are you really on chemo I don't believe it" I'll scream. Ive resorted to running my fingers through my hair and dropping a chunk in front of the persons face to get them to shut up.

2nd time- it was good to hear from you here, although I am sorry to hear about all the challenges in your life from the elder care issues, the challenges with your DH, finding work, etc. I wish my arms could reach all the way to the west coast to give you a big hug. You keep looking for that job and focus on taking care of yourself.

There are some non-profits around that help women who have been out of the work force for awhile (sometimes many years) and wondering if there could be one in your area that might be a resource for you? I know some other women on these threads going that route to get re-employed after divorce, etc. If the traditional recruiters and placement firms cannot help, maybe something to research? Two and a half years is not a long time to be unemployed, but know it works against a person too sometimes.

Sorry I have not been here as much friends. Working through a summer head cold and trying to feel better to get through my last follow up with the MO tomorrow. I am ready to be done with doctor apts, bet some of you feel the same way?

Hi Rosevalley. Hope your weekend was bearable and you had the best time possible. So sad to hear of your ongoing pain and discomfort and praying it all can be kept at bay with of course qol paramount for you.

Yes, you're right an Irish wake can be dangerous.SickTired

Some places down in the countryside I've heard they can go on for three or four days.... You gotta have stamina for that.

I don't drink myself, though the fumes in the air at these events would often make you light headed - so really no need to drink at all. Mostly the idea is to try to take the family out of their sadness and celebrate the life of the deceased with stories, good humour and some remembrances.

Hi Chevyboy. You may have seen me on the various threads, I don't post as often now. It's been 3 years for me and I'm doing well T.G.

I usually sleep well but whenever I do get insomnia it's at a different time to most of you guys because of our time difference.....so it's all a bit confusing....awake when you're asleep....asleep when you're awake!!!
