INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Hootie hootie, to all owlettes. Life is wonderful. Sitting is divine
Rose, Yay Jan. --In the 2nd last post that I lost, my note to you talked about an absolutely fun restaurant on A1A south of Augustine at or just north of Palm Coast. Looks like a Deliverance place. You can even wonder when you walk through the door. But the menu is gourmet. Prices aren't. Behind the evergreen wall across the street is apparently a VERY exclusive community. Tiger Woods is a patron. That was the only name dropped when we asked to talk to the Chef, they had three. LOL, not cooks--chefs. Usually four but one was away at culinary school. Spookie can come and stay here and we will drive to meet you. If not convenient, I will drive to see you if you go to Tampa, and Spookie is there
Jan. is ugly to us and beautiful to the cold world
Spookie, just shy of 21 days if I count right, unusual for cast off in three weeks, but they must be happy with it YAY---you are wearing a brace. Bet the trigone was an area involved. I did that once, bugger. Baby it
Weather here cold, but beautiful skies. Yesterday ugly and raining. Willing to go either north to see Rose or to Tampa. You are welcome to stay here overnight or a couple of days
Rose Yoohoo you can come too. I tell DBF to bunk in else where and we can do a girls thing. You can enjoy the pool, while Spookie and I just enjoy you.
Chevy, you TRAMP, I'll say the same as Littlegoats--Pole dancing and Alley Collecting. Go Girl-----How much was the greenhouse on Amazon. Your thingy even had the plastic thingy. Dh picked up a perfectly salvageable table at curbside for DS at the end of his first year. Butcher block top white legs. A bit of sanding for the top and polyurethane-washing and paint for the legs--like new
Then at the SPCA thrift at the dumpster were chairs--even the thrift wouldn't take them. Did the same with the chairs. Cleaning, paint & urethane, and off to University. The table lasted his entire 6 years in apartments. The chairs only lasted 4. Cami sending LOVE sweetie. You aren't posting like you used too. Know you are working , but I worry with all the polypharmacy. Hope Katy-Kat and Joey are good

LMG, Never told you I love your posts-- I do. Like Chevy, Cami when she can, 2nd, and Jwoo- you, also, catch everyone pretty well. On the eczema thing. I'm partial to Bag Balm(BB). Started use with my Brit with her first of two littersin 1982 and 83. Then it was only sold in hardwares and feed stores. I used it while I was nursing DS. DH was aghast at first request--"You're Not using that on MY son"-1984. When he went to the pharmacy for the suggested pure lanolin(very good) that was behind their counter, the Pharmacist said I have something even better---he brought out BB. Susan will drop in and go ehweeeee it smells. LOL, when I can smell it does stink. But it works well. Try a warm water soak first, softens the cracks-soak for twenty to thirty minutes. I used a plastic container -deep enough for both hands that easily sat on my lap. Then apply the BB or pure lanolin as soon as you pat dry. Rub in gently for several minutes. Way better than steroids. But if it's eczema, use vinegar to soak and then rinse with clear water for a couple of minutes. Avoid soaps. I know crazy to say to a nurse. But I have concluded, God wants me too learn a different path from orthodox medicine by having to go to the severe of scenarios without response. AND then my survival mode kicks in with developing a different plan than orthodox. Much includes treatments of decades ago and some are creative LOL. Found and incredible web site that incorporates orthodox and the old treatments. Won't risk losing post as I did with the last two. I'll post then go and get the link.
Blessings--I would have loved to see Jane Curtain and Gilda Radner as Rosesanna-rosanna Dana do that skit. Loved Johnny Carson, but couldn't catch him much with working. One night Gilda was on and they talked about some of her characterizations she used. She credited the tone of RD to her Grandmother. They called her from the show. Her Gram talked just like Roseanna. The audience lost it when Gram said "Never Mind" . Priceless.

Peppersweet, totally have taken your advice. The lights aren't my colors, but have chosen to embrace them b/c they are fun. Oh so thanks, for putting your thought in my head. Everytime I looked at them in the last few days, I thought of what you said.

Thyroid: Ultrasound & bloodwork tomorrow.-----Total care for complications of stupid thyroid and eczema complication of thyroid is about 3-4 friggen hours a day. But not praying to die as I was ---x amount of days ago. Stupid thyroid. BUT I can sit for longer periods of time without feeling like I'm on a steelwire brush YAY. Probably way TMI. An ERROR on my part was to stop the soaks of summer. I did a twofer-----swim exersize and the water soaks which by literature research was recommended- that's why I was swimming. Stopped swimming b/c of the rains of September. Things went to a hell in a hand basket for multiple reasons. Er, sex was a factor. I'm 64. So many people aren't comfortable with talk of women of Age having fun or liking sex.
LOL , in Jan last year I went to a GU doc about the two stones I passed. In his history questioning he said "Well we can bypass the sexual activity" And I said "No we can't etc.". It was so cute, he went back to the demographics page( I know the drill), he was checking my age.
I did two things on the day I was praying to die or go to Oregon. One I won't relate here( I will on the skin thread), but the other was- I am doing tub soaks daily. That whole ritual is about an hour +, and incorporating the rituals post Rai-131. That has done a turn around. Plus a change in the thyroid med usage. Er - and no sex- bummed
Within seconds of the moment of praying to die----I had an inspiration of what to do. It was totally unorthodox. It worked. A prayer answered.
-
Sas have to take car to Tarpon for recall work. Will call after 2 ish
-
Okey-dokey Spooks---I know you'll be in the pickup line @ that time.

-
First bedtime----------nighty night. Bless all
-
Of course i didnt read it Sassie
U guys
Have been busy, dont even remember what u wrote.
Went out today, in tomorrow. .weather sucks but not as bad as buffalo, so cant complain
-
I went to Walmart today. Got 2 coats for the winter. All my coats are huge and it's time to send to goodwill. A maroon pea coat with detachable hood and a navy rain coat with hood.
We lost one of the stray cats today. He's been hanging around with us for 5-6 years. We called him Buddy. Was never the friendly kind, couldn't touch him until the last 2 weeks or so. He'd let me pet his head. The other day I could pet his whole back and notice that he'd lost a ton of weight. Don't know how old he was but maybe he was really old. My GS took him to the vet's while I was gone. The vet put him down for no charge. That was nice. No I'm not replacing him. There's still 4 cats outside and 3 in.
Do any of you notice that the boobs with implants ache more when it's cold? They didn't bother me much while on the cruise, but since getting back home and the colder weather, they hurt more. See ya guys in the morning.
Oh spookie, congrats on removable of cast, does seem a short time
-
Wren,
Charcoal had his ornaments that looked like him along with his name on a few and even had his own stocking. Going to put his ornaments up on the tree every year and include his stocking in the decorating. New kitty will have their own ornaments and stocking.
LMG,
its always better to be prepared in advance.
-
Oh guys I'm so sorry I'm hardly ever here, not because I don't love u, but cuz my little job has turned FT with ths weather. It's constat on the phone and computer and we all know how I hace to corret so many things that's what takes so long. So I skimmed
But I did catch the alley trollup going her usual business route and actually find something other than customers.--Looks good, probably better than who u usually pick up.
MO now I'm getting excited for u'r new ct picking u out--cus they usually do, this is grest, u'll feel better u'll see.
Does anyone here live close to all that snow, I never heard of such a blizzard or whatever u call it. that is absurd. We're just really cold with just some snow, but way to cold.
I've been up since 3 with my D--took a bunch of pills so I hope it stops that means my calls are going to be more mixed up, I'll be so tired I know--Damn D it just doesn't give up on me. I must really be full of it for sure.
I know I'm missing a lot of u, but I don't mean to-U'r all special in my life and I always want u all to feel decent and I hope u do.
-
Cami, Damn D, it should at least give up on you during the Holidays! *Hugs*

-
And so how do you guys get ring-worm? I thought that was only on dogs? But when I have problems, like even ANYwhere, I just mix that athlete's foot ointment with Fluocinonide (prescription) ointment, and slather it on, and it all goes away!
I think I'm allergic to elastic? So I put that on when I get red or itchy!
And Bag Balm is also good, for healing hard working hands, but get those little cotton gloves, and put them on after, and sleep with them on.
Yes Clobetasol is good, but the Fluocinonide and fungal ointment is good too, even mixed with zinc-oxide!
Blessings, that was funny.... "I'm sure we'll make it somehow... "... So I'm thinkin' sniff-sniff.... Ha!
That link was so funny! I sent it to my girls!
Oh Blessings! You GO girl! That was GREAT how you shut down that moron in the waiting room! Yes, at my age, I just don't have the patience anymore... I could do that TOO! Your story was funny!
Wren! Yes, I just have to fix the bottom part of it, when I put it up! That picture was from the Web, but it looks just like that! I think it was around $30 on amazon, but you have to put it together, where-as I just grabbed it, and carried it home... Ha! Yes, snow-storms like that are pretty rare, but those pictures they are showing are amazing!
Yes Sassy! I have so many "treasures" from finding them in the alley! I found those "wooden chairs".... One with a wicker seat, and I painted the seat and trimmed it bright red... I just LOVE it.... The white one is also with a red seat now! The LAST thing I found, was this white 2 drawer stand, with a butcher-block like top, and it is sitting right here in our dining/living room, and I put my yarn in one drawer, and recipe's in the other.... Get this.... Husband has still not noticed it! Ha, ha! I moved the one I HAD there, to the other end of the couch, and set the NEW one up, and I'm still amazed that he has not noticed! I polished the top with Liquid Gold, and it looks NEW! Even the white paint was perfect!
I don't need Walmart.... I just shop at "alley-mall".... Ha! Can't beat the prices!
Morning Blondie.... take care of yourself, and stay warm...
Sorry about your cat Smaarty! I'm just sorry he got so sick....
OH? It's the CAMMI~!!! Yay! Damn kid goes out partying, and forgets to come home! And YES.... The "trollop-tramp-ne-er-do-well" was at it again! Those dis-cards are just not SAFE with me seeing them in the alley! At least I didn't FALL! It was icy in spots also, but I changed into my Winter Crocs before trekking back up the alley.... stealthily, hoping no-one would SEE me, and I brought it back home! It was treacherous...
I expected sirens any moment..... but I survived. Not one person was even chasing me.... and my DH still doesn't know! I just COULDN'T ask him to bring it home... he would have gone into that "oh you don't need that thing," and blah, blah! So some things what they don't know, can't piss them off..... right?
So I think I have to "ask" him? Not a chance!
Cammi, "little chit"..... I'm so sorry for all that problem stuff... I don't mean to make light of it all, but oh wait.... yes I do... seems like.
You better watch what pills you take! I mean altogether? But do they help!
And you want us to feel "decent?" Was that the word you used? You talking to ME? DECENT? You say? I don't know what that is... I did at one time I think.... but those days are over and done with.... Luv you little little-chit!
-
My two red chairs, photo taken this past Summer! When it was WARM and beautiful out! And things weren't FREEZING .... and were still ALIVE!
-
good morning ladies.
SAS - hope you are loving your lights. Also thanks for the hope of sex at 64. I don't get it( sex) at my age / 44. Back Pain prevents it. I am so very jealous. But at least I have hope that someday this works out. Can't wait to tel my dh. I also LOVE the "holy crap... What a ride ! That's the way I wanna go - not all this laying around all day waiting on death to come. You inspired me to get up and go to town today. Not sure what I'll do but maybe the library. I also finally checked out the warm and fuzzy site. - hilarious. I think I spent like hours reading that topic the other day.
Spookie. / glad you got your cast off. I agree seems so quick.
Chevy - luv your greenhouse. And FREE. Well that's right up my alley. Lol
Luv my goats. Did you find a heated throw yet ?
Blessings / luv the waiting room video and your experience of shutting someone up. You go girl. I would never have the courage to actually say or do anything. Good for you.
Cami - hoping the big D leaves soon. Is it worse depending on what you eat ? Or just terrible no matter what ?
Smarty. - hey skinny lady. A new cost that fits. Sweet I bet you look wonderful in it. Sweet that you gave your old ones to goodwill.
Blondie / hi
2nd -hope your patent situation is working out better now. Thinking of you.
Hi to all I missed. Hope everyone has a great day.
Hootie hoo

My DH gave me a heated throw from Bed Bath & Beyond that's a small electric throw. It has the curly fleece on one side and plush on the other It disconnects easily so i can use it one way or the other. Love it.Luvmygoats, I watch channel 8 & Pete is so cute but he's so dramatic. He goes nuts during tornado and snow season! When we first moved here he had me in the closet during a storm and it was stocked with everything!
Congratulations Chevy! I'm one year now. Will get all news from doc on Dec 2. Already know the radiologist's reading just will let the surgeon feel me up and listen to him
I love dumpster diving. Still have a bureau I got when lived uptown apartment and drug it to our place!

Part of the post that got deleted was telling you that I had a wonderful day thrifting. I had housekeeping post answer . Just now looked this little cake plate up. Can't yet get the pic to post. You all know that's higher than I usually do, but it's really sweet. DUH now what? Please, if I link to the page b/c I can't get it to post, go look at it. I was going to use it for a cheese ball next week. OH MY. My heart kind of went a little crazy

Yeah spookie took me awhile to calm down. It.was fun.I even talked her down 4.50 dollars. One time I suggested that a piece she had for 65$ was American Brilliant Cut, but I wasn't sure. If that was the case it could possibly worth 3-4hundred. She said it was fine. She marked things where she thought they might sell. She wasn't interested in knowing what things were. I've noticed the items that I buy have gone up a bit. I'm thinking the stuff that moves fast she raises the price some for other stuff that's the same. My wipeout post to you earlier was that I was sorry if I missed you today.
Rose this is the third time I'm saying I'll come up and see you or go to Tampa. I've told you multiple times about the totally fabulous restaurant, i'll just suggest it when you get here. Spookie can stay here and you too. Who is it you visit in FL.?
Smarty-sorry about the cat. Yay for new skinny coats
Patty, thanks, and yes hope is fun. Hope I can get back to it.
Chevy OH sweetie stay off the iceCami, sorry about the D and work.
Sorry if I missing you, I've been wiped out so much lately, and then try to remember what I wrote
8th thrift stores today after US of neck.

Morning gals... I'm reading your post from 13 hours ago Sass...
You know, try right clicking a picture, and then hit "save image as" and then it should open up your saved "pictures" .... Rename it if you want, if it just says "Image" ...
And then the picture should be there...
Then to post, go to BC.ORG, and click the little "mountain" thing at the top, and hit "choose file" and then it will "think" a second, and take you back to your picture file... Find that one you want to upload here....
And click "open".... Then it will think some more, and "open" that post right HERE! And you will think OMD I DID it!
So now if none of this makes any sense at all.... never mind.
I love your crystal/glass-ware! I have the exact "candle-holder" in red and clear! And sometimes I use it as a candy dish.....
So your tub overflowed? I usually do things like that on the stove! I forget to turn it down, and then go type!
And so you guys are having a slumber-party? Possibly? And you are going to smoke and drink and tell dirty jokes? And brush each other's hair? That's what I used to do when we were "girls"...Ha!
ONE time, we all had our pajamas on, and it was snowing outside, and we walked straight down Tennyson Street... No cars around, because it was 11 at night! We went to the Oriental theatre, and watched Bing Crosby in White Christmas! Then we walked home...... There were about 4 of us, all sleeping in the same bed, cross-wise, and it was the best night ever!
YOU guys will probably sleep out by your pool? In sleeping bags? I would.
Mema! That cartoon was good! Ha!
Thinking of you Blondie... Happy Friday to YOU!
I was looking at my Brother's FB page, and he wrote something so silly! About using Hamburger to muffle sounds in his bass drum... I posted, ARE YOU NUTS? Then everyone ELSE said more stupid things, and I was just cracking UP! About 107 of us altogether, just kept adding to this whole silly subject! At one point, he asked me "Hey Jeannette, can you go to Carl's and get me a Sausage Sandwich?"
So I said "sure, with green peppers and cheese?" And then this other clown said "Screw him, make him get his own damn sandwich!" Ha, ha! So 107 of us were like in this chat-room... just going back and forth, and having a blast!
EVERYone was a musician, and they all had these silly ideas about getting more "sounds" with stupid things... and they all tried to out-do each other, and I was just along for the ride... and laughing the whole time....
I could have posted it, but thought maybe I shouldn't make ALL that public.... Ha!

FREE DOG!!!!
Anybody want a Poodle? Housebroken, doesn't chew what isn't his, doesn't bark much. Severe seperation anxiety from his daddy.
But this boy likes his coffee. Or I should say MINE!!!! Left my coffee on the table to go potty. Came back, Kris was licking his lips, my coffee GONE.
Now he's on a coffee high, pacing and whining because he thought he saw daddy's car.
Making me crazy.
-
lol
caffinated poodle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope the coffee wasn't Starbucks or he might not come down for a while!
-
I picked up the ultrasound. There's a thyroid remnant---or something. I'm back on the treadmill. So that makes 2008, 2009, 2010 (DH's), 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. same time of year.
5 were my years getting back on the treadmill, one DH's. Actually knew it was time, that's life. Off to get the doc line up done.
-
Blondie- Thinking of you. Prayers your way. Have a good weekend. Hugs.
Good luck on the medical front Sassy.
Can't imagine a caffinated poodle... poor thing. I had a cousin that had a coon hound mix that needed prozac so she could go to work. Severe separation anxiety - shredded upholstery! You might suggest a happy pill from the vet!
Hi to all I missed. Keep the cartoons coming. Love them. Where do you find these things?? Cold and wet here.. pity the folks in Buffalo and Rochester NY!
-
Good Morning..... -
