Morning Badger! Okay, I'll print those recipes off! Thanks! We should be on the "Drinking" thread, Ha!
-
I'm not going to mention any names..... BUT...
-
How about drinking? I did spike my morning coffee with milk - woohoo!
-
And one for me and Cammi!
-
Me TOO! Ha! Does that count?
-
I'm listening to David Allen Coe......
-
LOL Chevy - there's always phone sex! I knew of a 300-pound woman who had that job. She soundproofed her bedroom closet and worked nights while her kids were asleep. Apparently you can make a lot of money doing it.
-
I'm listening to my DH snore.
-
Yes, I read about that once! Don't tell Cammi..... she will be all OVER that one! I even saw a piece on TV about some of the "gals" are actually men.... EEEeeeks!
My DH is laying there, telling me to turn on TV, to the NEWS! Well who the hell can find a NEWS station at THIS hour...Ha! So I'm standing there, DOING it!
So I figure if he wants to just lay there and give orders.... excuse me..... ASK me, then I am the crazy one for DOING it.... Ha, ha!
-
We almost watched a porn movie one time! But I couldn't figure out how you can WATCH that, and still DO anything.... So after about 10 minutes, I thought.... WOW, well THAT was fun..... NOW what? And we never watched a movie again....
-
oh I have to edit this post hahaha
[If my DH were laying in bed and telling me to put on the news] I'd probably do the same but tune it to something offbeat like C-SPAN. Don't want to watch Congress? Get up and change the channel LOL!
OK 6:30 time to get DH up for work, cooking brunch. Happy Sunday!
-
Your DH snores? You need a nice big pillow.... and gently put that over his face.....JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!! I remember I used to poke him... well not YOUR husband, but mine... And if that didn't work, I would clear my throat rather loud.... And if THAT didn't work, I would scream WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THERE CHESTER??? I CAN'T SLEEP!!! His name isn't Chester, either!
-
Okay..... You too! xoxoxo
-
Okay, so it's like I SIT here, and you guys are all asleep! I can't just talk to myself..... can I?
-
My first good morning--I did not have this on my favs.ist--oops, I put it back on.
I saw at one point Chevy u said u were crazy, said something after that but I stopped at crazy thinking yea, she knows it.
-
Chevy it doesn't sound like u are having the weather we are having and u usually have this don't u. I don't mind winter never did, but this is brutal. Joey get the mail and he has to get all wrpped up and come in as red s a beet, the wind is awful there is no one standing on corners for ny kind of business--so I've been home completely.
-
good morning, Owlettes! Trying to catch up on Friday and Saturday's posts, may take a while. Too early, too much, busy thread
-
This thread is like wild fire, I can never keep up if I miss a half a day, I've given up--I read quickly to try to get into the conversation now.
-
Chevy, you crack me up! 😂
I don't use alcohol, but I'f I did it would be margaritas. We frequently eat lunch after church at O'Charleys. A few weeks ago, our usual server (son of one of our party) asked, " Paula, you want diet Dr. Pepper, right?" I said, "no, I want a double shot of Wild Turkey with a coke back." He along with everyone else looked at me in amazement. I said, " I'm kidding. I just always wanted to say that." It's a line from Thelma & Louise.
We're getting some snow today, turning to rain, then freezing rain. Temps will be 40 below with wind chills tomorrow. I'd rather snow than all that water followed by a snap freeze. I pray the electric stays on.
I need to get in the shower. Church starts at 10:30.

Paula u'r weather is crazier than ours--it's all crazy----Like that line u said it well.Enjoy church nd u'r lunch.

Good morning! It's still 7 F here but the polar vortex is coming, the polar vortex is coming. Temps to minus 25 by tonight with wind chills to minus 50. Dropped off DH's car at the mechanic's this morning and he took my car to work. His has a slow coolant leak somewhere and this is not the weather to be stranded in. I'm not going anywhere today anyway.
Chevy, yes my DH snores like a freight train. All them men in his family do. I remember my first Christmas Eve at his parents house (we stayed overnight). He snored, his dad snored, his brothers snored. OMG the house was rockin'. The next morning, I asked my MIL how she slept through all that racket and she laughed and shrugged and said oh I just take out my hearing aids. It was funny and now I'm used to it but I think he has sleep apnea. Sometimes he stops breathing which somehow wakes me up dammit. He won't go to the doc and there's no way he'd wear a C-PAP machine so why nag. Just for the fun of it? ;-)
-
Ear plugs magic. I take them when we go with friends 2x/year to OK. I know I snore but can't take other people snoring. They are magic. You hear something faintly in background but who cares.
BBL got to get ready for church. Cold but not the bitter cold of Midwest. Says that we will have dewpoint below zero and the blogging weatherguy I like cannot find a stat for that. Says be wary of static elec. I need milk at grocery, will be crazy but no plans for remainder of week. Oh, do need to get haircut but not something that cannot wait till it warms up.
Will see if I can get some more goat pics.
-
I wrote this haiku in honor of my hat head:
House is warm but dry.
Static electricity
did my hair today.
-
I'm all ready for church. Waiting on DH as usual. Even when my hair was really long, pre-chemo, I could shower, dry my hair, put it in hot rollers, dress, put on makeup and be ready ahead of him. Funny thing is, he has very little hair and doesn't primp. I sure don't need hot rollers now. I finished chemo in May. I quit wearing scarves & hats about 5 weeks ago. My hair came back very curly.
Luvmygoats, when I lived in Florida in the early 90's, a friend of ours had Pygmy goats. I think they're adorable. I loved watching them frolic around. They're great companions for horses.
Well, time to leave for church. Be back later.
Paula
-
good morning Owlettes
Luvmygoats, interested in knowing about your goats. Do you show them?, make goat cheese? I ate goat a few years ago, did not seem right, like I was eating someone's pet. It was not done enough, really tough. I only ate a few bites, to be polite to the cook...
Happy Sunday...off to brave the cold & walk to a restaurant for breakfast...Yes walk, I am in a Sunday morning walking group....it is too cold but I have been so lazy, & fatigued that this should perk me up or I will freeze out there...if you do not hear from me in a few hours send search & rescue...lol..
-
Chevy, as always, fantastic pictures ( cartoons )...
-
Ah....someone ( me probably ) sang Let It Snow just once too often. We are now revised to get 15 inches. Hmmmmm. Almost time to go out and feed the feral cats.
Hope we don't lose power....but in the meantime I have to say it is a beautiful winter wonderland picture postcard type snow out there.

Hi Insomniacs- drinking, phone sex, you ladies have been busy this morning! Hope everyone is doing okay with the intense weather everywhere. It got colder here but nowhere near as bad as for many of you in the midwest and northeast. Be careful with the cold, wind, snow, ice and the like. Keep safe and keep your pets in safety too.
Curious how many hear do drink much post bc treatment? I was told by one MO that they generally recommend only a couple drinks a week max. I have gone down to once in a blue moon also because of blood sugar issues. I figure my body does not need it anymore, but do have a glass of wine or two every once and awhile for special occasions. A friend is having a 60th b-day at a local restaurant/winery in a few weeks, so I am saving up my drinks for that!
I have had THREE good nights of sleep in a row! So grateful.

DH snores like a freight train. When he had a mustache I'd tickle it, he thought it was a bug and stopped. Went camping with his parents once. Camp was next to a cow pasture. I heard the most awful noise, wondered what was wrong with that cow? No sick cows, was MIL snoring!
