INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Hi Mags, I want to comment on pain. When I was in my early 50's I lifted a box of damp books and turned to set it down. I herniated a disc L4 L5 and the pain began. I worked at a technical high school but in a dept of labor program. I never knew about workmans comp, how it worked. My husband was out of work and when he got a new job there was still the "pre existing conditions" on insurance. ( You youngsters may not remember "pre-existing conditions" ) I toughed it out for a year and a half. It was mind numbing pain and so bad I didn't even realize it. I never took off a day of work in that time and took 12 ibuprofen a day. (The old prescription dose.) Pain just takes over our minds, bodies, and senses. Finally I had surgery and I awoke smiling. In the coming days I realized I hadn't been able to see colors in those months, colors. That is indeed a dark place, to be robbed of our senses.
Because nothing is ever simple, my Sciatic nerve was damaged through this and it began firing randomly and most often unexpectedly, It was consistent in firing as I got out of bed in the morning, no matter what technique I tried, rolling out, crawling backwards, levitating. It was also huge pain, but different than what I had experienced pre-surgery. I was rescued by Neurontin, I took it for 6 months and it worked! as far as the nerve firing. I still limped badly with sciatic pain for about another year. One Sunday at church I went up for prayer and didn't even realize the pain was gone until I was on my way home. No flashes in the sky, no harp music, just a quiet change, no pain.
Mags I am not sure what I am saying here. I feel so bad for you being tormented by pain in all of its manifestations. I do hope you are able to continue to talk with someone and perhaps even be able to tell them what questions to ask. Maybe that can happen.
I am thankful for the people who have come into my life and known what questions to ask, Or maybe I was ready to be heard. Not sure.
Love Ginger

Ginger... Same thing! I twisted my back, while kneeling across the bed, throwing the covers up from the bottom... That PAIN! The Ls4 & 5.... A year of pain, physical therapy, chiropractor, (which is the WRONG thing to do) Muscle spasms... and yes 600 mg of Ibuprofen 4 times a day.... Finally the Sciatica was the last straw.... Surgery...for a double laminectomy.... I woke UP from surgery, and that sciatic pain was gone!
Rehab for awhile, but just kept getting better.... Still gets a little "sore" once in awhile, but not anymore than my hip. This was in 1985!
Amazing what we go through.... and then like a miracle, we are okay.....
Been working in my gardens today! A little cool, but the sun feels good.... Moving planters around, figuring out what I want to do with all the space...AND watching the Daytona 500! Now I'm going to relax....

Hey quilters! DD and DH went to a quilt show today. This was on the grounds. Guess they want to keep it warm during our cold cruel winters. Or have waaaaay to much spare time😜
-
spookie. I love it !
Mags. Hope you are feeling better
Susan. Hope you are feeling better also. I agree, it's amazing what a walk in the sunshine can do for us
Chevy. You sure stay busy. Wish I had half your energy.
Susan. - nice story.
Sas. Hugs the central line continued to be a pain in the rear. They put a pic line in and it's doing great. Left the central line in for now for backup.
Hello to all I missed
I am still in hospital. Wbc going down not up. It's .4. So a few more days of IV antibiotics. Boo. Oh well, it could always be worse

Hoooooooot my friends! playing catch-up, as usual! where did the month go??? making my way back to Jan 22nd... so much to cover, so another novel from me it is. Oh I wish we could all actually meet in person on a daily basis and really gab!
Before i get started- did you ladies see this? http://blog.thebreastcancersite.com/cs-biphosphonates-cancer-medicine/?utm_source=bcs-bcsfan&utm_medium=social-fb&utm_term=022016&utm_content=link&utm_campaign=cs-biphosphonates-cancer-medicine&origin=bcs_bcsfan_social_fb_link_cs-biphosphonates-cancer-medicine_022016
Very interesting.
SO JEALOUS of all you ladies that are getting SNOW. We didn't even have winter here in central Texas! ugh! i hate it! I'm a native, and hate the heat so much. the boyfriend is from Illinois, and I can't get him to move north. It makes me so sad. But he is good to me in so many other ways. Did I show you ladies my birthday gift from him? I'm not gonna say I'm spoiled, but....
My dream car. I've wanted one since I was about 7. Figured I'd have one by 50 or so. Well, apparently he had been planing this for a while, and after my Bluebear died, followed by the death of my oldest human friend, David, he decided to give me an early bday gift. My friend's funeral was planned 2 weeks after his passing to allow people from all over the world to make it, and I was the 2nd of only 2 speakers. I told John he did not have to come, because it would be an all day affair, and I had to focus. The next evening, we went to dinner with his BFF and her wife, and as we pulled up to our regular Greek place, I notice this car sitting in the parking lot, and get PISSED. I felt like the universe was slapping me in the face with an old fish. My Boo, my David, and now it was rubbing this car in my face!??! I was livid. We went in and sat down, then I made everyone change places because I did not want to sit facing the parking lot. I proceeded to order and drink an entire bottle of red wine. Well, the check came, we paid it, I was trashed. Our regular waiter and friend George drops off our change, then picks up something off the floor: a set of keys! throws them at me and says "You dropped these!" to which my drunk self says "No, these are not mine, you might want to ask the other people here." He stares at me, and everyone starts laughing. Takes me a full 2 minutes to understand that those keys and that car go together and they are indeed, mine. I start sobbing. Did I mention I am drunk at this point? So drunk that driving my awesome car home is not an option. Apparently while I was eulogizing my dear David, the BF, and the girls drove to Houston in the pouring rain to pick up this car that had been in storage for a couple of months so he could give me an early bday gift because life was being really horrible. I still can't believe it, and every time I walk out front I am slightly startled that it is in my driveway. Needs a lot of work that we will be doing together, which I love.
Jazzy- Thank you for your kind words. I am going to be trying to spend as much time with my Granny as possible. You are so right, all our treatment takes a toll, but we are still here and that is something to celebrate! and High % for your final visit with your BS! and spot on with "I had cancer folks, not the flu." the fatigue still gets me every day.
Teka- so glad you got over your cold. -7 may even be too chilly for me. That groundhog knows what is up- waiting for spring!
Split-bean- your rooster is just lovely! One of these days I am going to learn how to take care of chickens. I like having fresh eggs.
Eeyore- Thanks for the info. Yes, I have this weird and inconstant pain, and have thought about going GF, but I am struggling with other aspects of my diet, and my trainer said "take one thing at a time." Its on the list, but I may bump it up higher. I just really love wheat
Where in TX are you? I'm in Round Rock, just north of Austin. So hot already!
Patty- hope you didn't kill your kiddos when they were home for so long
and we are all thankful for you, that attitude of gratitude goes full circle. And your DH sounds like a wonderful man, I am glad y'al found each other. I am a vegetarian, and we have a Vitamix- it s amazing! i usually do a smoothie of 1 whole lemon, 6 cups of greens, 10 oz of mixed berries, a cup of bulgarian yogurt, 1/2 cup chia seeds, 1/2 banana, 2 tbs of coconut oil, and a scoop of pea protein, and i drink 1/2 for breakfast, 1/2 for dinner. At first I hated it, but now i can't live without it. And look at you making those VDay plans! Sorry you did not get to actually follow through, but living in the moment is the way to live. shoot. My BF doesn't do VDay, so I stopped bothering after a few years. I buy 1/2 price candy the day after, and don't share
That Camero is rad! and DH is a great dad. Love that old truck, too. Very sorry to hear about your poor neighbor. Did they catch the guy shooting? adult coloring is so good for your mind and soul. great meditative tool. Oh no- you are in the hospital again! I hate to hear this so much! Sending you super healing thoughts and love. Wish i could wave a magic wand and make you all better.
Sas- seriously, I need to come visit you and make you take me to all your thrift spots!, and rent a U-haul to bring everything home! And I agree re your anniversary- best to consolidate all the dates into one day, and raise a glass to say "eff you cancer!" and keep moving forward. I cannot imagine the stress you must have been under in that short time frame, but am so glad that you are here with us. You are still providing care to others: all of us here benefit from your experience and willingness to share and we love you for it. And listen to the Chevster: hit the whacky not the tobacky!
Even better if you make brownies or truffles to eat. And did you enjoy the snow? Glad you had a relaxing and enjoyable dinner with Dr R and Mrs. R... And you- tripping over your own feet! sounds like me
I am a hardcore flipflop gal, but am learning to look for other sandals, ones that stay connected to my feet, but still allow my fee to breathe. Start looking for alternatives, we don't want to lose you to a flipflop accident. Nice curbside score with the chairs! ans yay for a more reasonable child support payment for Donnie. I LOVE that sawtooth glass- so cool!
Zilz- that snack plate/cup is so pretty! Tip on getting your veg- as long as you freeze it, should be safe to ingest. At least, that is what my ONC said. Double check with yours, of course. Thanks for posting the Jin Shin info. Very cool!
Loverly-
thank you. Glad that the GF worked for your sister. Ummm- did you ever confirm that you were not pregnant? Also, i used to knick my nipples all the dang time when shaving my armpits when i would get in a hurry, so i totally understand your keloid story. (it hurt like hell!) almost glad I don't have them in the way anymore. Hope your dog is feeling better. Thing that works for my pups in addition to grain free is Aveda Scalp Benefits shampoo. Clears up every skin problem they have ever had. Allergies, yeast, etc. Your pup is beautiful!! Just want you to know, that you are a great positive poster, always bringing encouragement and fun to all of the boards you are on and we appreciate you!
Chevy- How's the DH's eye? Horray for finding your keys! I'm with you- i enjoy preparing a meal, but hate everything after eating it. Wish that we had the Jetson's kitchen. You are so right about drinking in our lives. When you are around it a lot when you are younger, it seems normal, but really isn't. At least, not in large quantities. And I am all for a system reboot! Glad you got your car back in working order with a minimal cost. Don't ignore those recalls!
Wren- really cool that the city really pushed that for public health! I am going to be in Seattle for a couple of days in March, planning on doing some regular tourist stuff, and taking a day trip to the Orcas Islands. I've never been to WA before and am super excited. I wish I was a minimal packer like you. I over pack every dang time. Glad DH is in that study. I hope that they learn a lot and maybe it will help him out if he has issues.
Glennie- I hope your bday was spectacular. I love that you took your gma on her plane ride- how fun! mine is 93, no flying for her, but yes, I will be seeing her as often as possible. They are 4 hours away, so it isn't easy, but, that is ok. I don't mind the drive at all. I regret not spending more time with family more than anything, and working in customer service for the last 25 years has been the main problem. I've got to get through 2 more years, to get my surgery and a long vacation done, and then I will be changing careers so I can be sure to see those that are still here. And how on earth did you get snow in FL?? anyone that says that climate change is fake is just braindead.
Gingerbrew- Hope your MRI went well, and that you are clear. Home buying is so exciting, and so emotional. I wish you a fun journey. Seattle market is nuts, same here. OMG you are lucky your table was full of things! So glad you were not julienned!
Lisa-e - I heard that meds can cause eye issues. Kinda scary! Did you get yours cleared up and are they likely to come back again?
Blessings- Wishing your DH the best on his medical path. Whew- doesn't sound easy at all. I love that your mom had a S&B group. I also love the entertaining sets. I have a small set, and love to bring them out when friends are over. Re: infusion room, when I was there, I tried my best to interact with those that were alone, and some didn't want to chat, but most really wanted to talk. I was there alone by choice, most dont have support systems, so don't hesitate to start a conversation. Falling classes= super smart! we should all take those no matter how old we are.
Mommyof2- Are you staying warm? Didd that ear infection clear up? My dad used to blow pipe smoke in our ears when we were little. I guess it dried any moisture up in the ear, always worked.
Spookie- did you freeze? Chevy enjoyed that temperature difference between the two of you a little too much
And who sold your Mustang?? I donno that I would be too happy about that. Dh is funny ,wearing winter clothes when it is 80+ yesterday is was 70 here, on one side of the street dude jogging in shorts, shirtless, other side of the street, dude in a PARKA... it is never cold enough for a parka here. ever. Quilted cars.. hmmmm sounds just as necessary.
Kathindc- have you been able to unbury yourself? the east coast sure is getting clobbered. Congrats to your DD and to you. Best wishes and health to his mom.
Susan- Happy Anniversary! glad you and your hubbie found one another- you sound like a perfect pair! Sorry you've not been feeling well and that DH had stones. ouch! Congrats on your new computer! Shelby is adorable. and look at your daughter go! impressive! Super cool about your friend's son and the play. I love that our society is finally starting to really be inclusive.
Smaarty- love the 5gen photo! That is wonderful and so unusual! It is so nice to see such long lived ladies
So sorry that your mom fell, but so glad she did not break anything. Did you figure out the issue with your stomach? glad your scan came back clear. That Evie is just precious. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and Happy cruising!
Mags- woweeewow! you look about 15 in that photo! that red swimsuit was great! But you are still a beautiful lady! I am so glad that your depression did not take you away from us all those years ago, or now. It is a beast, for sure. We lost BFs mom a year ago, and I will never be able to forgive myself for not being able to reach her. You are loved, by all of us, by so many. Glad Sas was there to reach for you and lift you up. Physical pain is absolutely a cause of depression. Your body and mind can only take so much. Just know that there is always help. Us, your family, friends, hotlines, doctors, we are all here for you.
JunieB- I agree, this group of ladies is so supportive and loving. I can't wait for you to post photos of that lilac tree in the spring- I bet it smells amazing! My mom had a chondrosarcoma in her knee and shin. Interesting to me that you had that and BC. Love that you volunteer at a homeless shelter. Glad you are sewing again and hope our consignment booth is successful. And hope that they put a camera up for you. The package thieving is a nationwide issue right now. People can be terrible.
Cubbie- Looks like you've had your plate full with all the activities! hope you got a chance to get a nap in here and there.
FeelingFeline- I love your avitar photo. Is that your cat? so handsome. Ohmy- both you and your DH with stage 3? Glad you are both still around and doing okay. Love your photos from Rome, you can see the joy and love in your family.
Goats- Allrecipes is such a great place to find everything! The hard part is deciding which one to use. I can sympathize with your DH. Did retail mgt for 10 years. A nightmare always. I worked several 24+hr shifts. I hate my job now, but I sure as heck don't miss that.
Boyd- great to see you back. Sounds like you are having some crazy times with your surgeon, etc. Biopsy is the only real way to know though, so don't regret doing it. At least now you know, instead of wondering and worrying. Hooray for benign!
Queenmom- Your imagery about being a pre-schooler was great!
Myra- Welcome Back! Glad you got your expanders out and your recon done. Don't give up on the Tamox. I am on year 2 now, and my side effects have mostly subsided, or maybe I have just gotten used to it all. I took effexor for a while to lessen my SEs. i DO NOT recommend anyone do that though. It made me so stupid, and took 6 months to ween off. Horrible. Therapy has been a life saver. Anyhow- Not sure where you read those rates, but the info I received was much lower recurrence rates. Just now starting my weight loss fight, and I know it will be hard, but I think it is worth it. Mybe talk to your MO about AI and ovarian suppression? Hopefully someone will come up with something that really works, sooner than later. Your dog is too cute.
Holein1- Nice to see you! any great golf trips lately? Smart tip about the walker to Ginger
Dyan- good to see you again. We all understand that broken feeling. And once you are not seeing drs every week, you will feel abandoned. This is all normal, and scary. For neuropathy, get some L-glutamine. Really helped me. Work is always a weird balance- you don't want to be perceived as not pulling your weight, but wth? 2 days to recover from rad burns?. maybe show them your burns... might wake them up. I did retail for so long, I know how messed up it is. But glad they reopened your FMLA. Oh- and listen to Sas and Chev, they are smart ladies. Hooray for your 1st grandbaby!! how exciting. Hope your move went well.
Gillty98- welcome to you! Can't imagine how much stress you have being a single mom already, and throwing BC on top of that? you are a warrior woman for sure! don't discount your struggles or feelings- they are valid. You've been through a lot. Your depression and anxiety is real and will continue for a while, and that is okay. Just remember that you are strong, valid, important, and enough. Really glad you have been able to get some rest.
Pawprint! those are some SASSYPANTS! we've missed you!
Jan69- howdy! You can order aloe juice from amazon if nothing is close to you. Most grocers will carry it.
Nettie! glad you popped in and are surviving.
share all your troubles with us, we are here for you
Lookforward- welcome- love your screen name! yes, cancer shakes us to the core, but we must continue forward. Hope your pup heals quickly. Home renovation- so much fun and hassle, but so worth it. We have been working on ours for 3 years, have several more projects to go.... sigh. Congrats to your daughter on upcoming wedding.
Well ladies, almost time for Downton Abby, need to get my wine and dinner ready. :ove you all and Hoooootie Hooooo to you (especially you Patty!! )
-
JWoo,
I am enjoying your novel and love the snow-capped owls!!
I'll be watching Billions on Showtime.
-
good to see you Jen! DH would move back north tonight, I won't go. TOO COLD! Have heat on, it's below 70. Can hear Chevy now.
-
wow jwoo. Impressive. You caught up really well. Very impressive...I bow to you
.
-
JWoo- Nice to hear from you. Thank you for the thoughtful post addressing all the lovely ladies here. You are amazing sister!
My final visit for my check up with the BS on 2/9 went just fine. Best visit I have had with her. She is a great BS, but has less desirable bed side manner. However, she was pretty good this time and said my imaging was looking very good (less scar tissue through time). I am good with cancer doc visits now until July. Thank you for asking.
-
Patty- I see those ruby slippers I posted for you are not working yet, but hopefully they can get your WBC down and you will be home soon. This one is for you, a bit of cute for the end of your day.
-
Woo you sure do catch up!
Golden Retriever puppies, my heart sings!
-
JWoo, wow you're good. How do you remember everything?! I have a hard time if the page changes. DD's BF's mother is doing well so far. Still healing so she hasn't started any treatments yet. I've been preparing some meals for her this weekend for the freezer and some for now. In the cooling down process right now. Miss you. Glad you had a chance to chat with us. Don't be such a stranger.
Susan, hope your DH passes his stone soon. Mine ignored a bladder stone for so long that it was the size of the old silver dollars and took 1 1/2 hours to break up and get out. Complained to his PCP that he was up 4-5 times a night and was told that was normal. Took me more years than it should have to get him to see a urologist. Stubborn mule that he is.
Cubbie, how are your eyes after the cataract surgeries? I keep putting off making an appointment. I'm such a chicken when it comes to my eyes.
Patty, hope things are staying the course and you are home soon.
Mags, ((((HUGS))))
Chevy, my hat off to you. I had turned my small front yard into a floral garden. Had to give it up when I was hit with a herniated disc.that pressed on the sciatic nerve six weeks after BMX and the city had to dig up 3/4 of my yard to replace a pipe. I loved that garden. Oh well, now I cut the grass that I'm allergic to
-
Wow!!! JWoo, that is the longest BCO novel I have ever read!! How did you manage to write such a long post without loosing it? Sorry about David. Nice gift by the way....what a sweet man your DBF is.
-
During my time away I had a bit of a medical issue. I had two sebaceous cysts on my back, had to have them surgically removed, 3 stitches each. So Friday was my appointment to have stitches removed. So th nurse removed the stitches and the doc comes in to check. By the way, she says, don't let the front desk charge you a copay for the visit because that's included in the removal. I sai, I never have a copay, we have really good insurance. My husband works for an insurance company. Oh? She says, which one? I tell her. She starts laughing. Our husbands work together and know each other! So we're going to have dinner together, at our favorite Mexican restaurant! Is that wild? Also, I love love love this lady
-
nice story mags
-
mags. It's a small world after all
Jwoo. Wow impressive post. I found out things from it that I must have missed. Nice car ! Nice bf! Please don't stay away so much next time.
Jazzy. - too adorable. I LOVE those puppies. MadE me smile -thanks !
Susan. Feeling better ?
Chevy. Did you seriously hear what spookie said? Heat on at 70 ?
Spookie. So jealous of your weather.
Loverly. Have you been more quiet then necc ? Are you OK ?
Well the had to put a pic line in which took several attempts by the charge nurse. He told me jokes the whole time. I am not much of a joke teller but here is one of them anyway :
An elderly lady had been seeing a counselor ( don) for depression for a long time and had built a good relationship with him. One night very late she call his cell phone and said she was done with fighting for this life and had decided to take her own life - yet again. She asked don where she should shoot herself that would def end her life. Don tried repeatedly to persuade her not to do it but after many many late calls he decided she was gonna do it with or without his advice so he may as well make it as painless as possible for her. He said go to your left nipple and go down about 2 inches and shoot there. The next morning he gets a call from the woman's dd who asked why did he tell her mom to shoot herself in the knee. Lol. OK he told it better
Well that was my lame attempt as a joke door today. Hope someone gets s smile out of it. Back to sleep for me.
Hootie hoo
-
made me giggle, Patty. How you feeling tonight?
JWoo,, impressive post!! Nice car. Sorry about David and Bear.
Spooks,, I like that car quilt.
-
pattyp, hope you are feeling better soon so you can get home! I am ok. I am holding one meal down a day. Intestinal purging for the rest of them. So if I go out somewhere, I just don't eat. It happens a lot, then it passes. No rhyme nor reason. I know you understand. It is what it is. You get yourself better. There are high heels in your near future sister
. But don't pole dance like Chevy!
-
Kathindc, I did not have cataract surgery, but I have had LASIK. My cousin has cataract surgery and has been very happy with the result. It made it easier for him to drive at night and he even no longer needs glasses for distance vision. He says the only problem is that he keeps forgetting that he still needs to take his glasses to the grocery store so he can read the labels!
Patty, sorry to hear you are back in the hospital again. Major bummer. I hope you get to go home soon.
-
Patty, me quiet?? You sure you got the right person my dear? I have been talking too much! Didn't get the joke right away, but got it after futher analysis. Those are some long gourds
JunieB, I am glad you like your name. Both of my daughters loved Junie B Jones. We still have the series.
Mags, truly a small world. He provides I am glad you are here.
Jazzy, I meant to ask you about this post:
Are the clients working you too hard? Hah!
Ms. Chevy, I haven't started on my garden yet. I think I am going to try to grow some basils, cherry tomatoes, and Vietnamese spinach. Still have problems with snails. Saw their trails the other day. Ugh! Maybe I should turn them into escargot and feed them to Mitzy. Might cure her skin problems. Oh Jwoo, thanks for the recommendation on the Aveda shampoo. I checked and eyes nearly fell out of their sockets. That shampoo is 3 times expensive than my shampoo. Actually, all the shampoo I have tried on her are more expensive than mine. Might consider getting it if this new one is not working for her.
Ms. Sas, hope dinner went well.
Ms. Spookie, cool car cover.
Susan, did they give DH Flomax to help with passing the stone? I meant to ask. Sorry aboutthe purging
I think that's enough chatting for now. Hello to all I didn't mention.
-
Hi Cubbie. How are you doing?
People with motion sickness: don't look at the owl above too long.
-
lover, have you looked into the ingredients in a clarifying shampoo? They also sell shampoos with no lather. The chemicals that cause the lather cause lots of problems. Just a thought
. Yes they gave hubby that. I read it could take up to 6 weeks. He sees his urologist thus coming week.
-
Loverly, what is the Vietnamese spinach? It it the same as Chinese called "empty heart" with hollow stock?
Oh, that owl is making me sleepy
-
Never mind Patty. I lied.
Thanks, Susan! I try to avoid shampoo with sulfates and cocamide derivatives (and now with oatmeal) They are problematic.
Eeyore, nice that you dropped in. Vietnamese spinach is different from water spinach or empty heart. It's slimy, kind of like aloe vera.
I do like kang kong or water spinach. I think they require more water usage.
Okay, time to bathe and get ready for bed. Work tomorrow.
-
Zills - I'm having difficulty remembering what books or movie you referred to. Must be a senior moment. Please refresh my memory.
Jazzygirl - what is the answer to the woodchuck tongue twister? Plus the golden retriever puppy pic is so freaking cute. Awwwww!
Loverly - I just about choked on my laughter to your response to Patty's joke (long gourds) Hah! Hah! Hah! And yes, that owl will make you nauseous if you look at it too long.
Spookie - there is a city here in Oregon called "Sisters" there is a big quilt show there every summer and several years ago a group of quilters displayed a PT Cruiser with the quilt they had made for it just like the pic you posted.
Patty - How are you doing. Since your last post. Diid you get some earplugs and did they help any?
JWoo - that is a cool car. What a thoughtful gift from your Hubby.
Hello Chevy, Susan, Mags, Eyore, Kathy, Gleenie & Cubbie and anyone else I missed.
The pic of my lilac is from last Spring. It is just getting some green buds on its branch tips right now.
Goodnight ladies
-
love the lilacs !!!
-
Oh MAN! Did you see THAT? I mean she kept us all straight, and talked to each of us.... I think she has a ghost-writer....!
VERY good JWow! Hah! You little tart! You got DRUNK? Hah... That was a fun story! You sound more like Cammi everyday! You got your dream-car! Congratulations!
And I see green-grass in that picture.... and trees with leaves on them.... Chuck, our SIL from Orlando was here, and even HE commented on how BROWN everything is here... Yes it darn IS! Just plain old brown and dead.... I worked outdoors yesterday, when it was 45.. I finally put a sweat-shirt on over my top... got rather chilly in the shade... but I made head-way! Going to take a few more days to get it cleaned up and moved around....
Yes, I know Spookie was having chilblains from that COLD 70 degree weather....she is such a panty-waist....
And DH's eye is perfect... Cataract surgery is one of the easiest procedures I've ever heard of! Better than a colonoscopy even~ You are SO thorough! Still don't know how you do it.... but thanks from all of us!
Peppermint! Great story! I had to read it twice to GET it!
Also that other one....Loverly..... " How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood-chuck could chuck wood!" We used to say those riddles in school! I don't think we needed a reason to say or sing anything....
And did you ever sing "Two Irishmen, two Irishmen, were digging in a ditch.... One called the other one a silly-son-of-a-peter murphy had a dog, a very fine dog was he..... He gave it to his lady friend to keep her company.... She fed it, she taught it, she taught it how to jump.... It jumped right up her petty-coat, and bit her on the Country boy, sitting on a rock... Along came a bumblebee and stung him on his Cocktail, ginger ale, five cents a glass... And if you don't like my story, you can shove it up your ....Ask me no questions, tell me no lies.... And if you get with a bucket of chit, for gosh-sakes, be sure to close your eyes!
We didn't sing that one to our Parents....
Loverly! You have those SNAILS???? Those giant snails that have those hard shells that when you accidentally step on one, you yank your whole foot up and scream and yell on YUCK and DAMN???
We have had slugs.... Man, I hate those things... They are up to no good. I used to have an aquarium, and would bring those things in and feed them to my big fish! Eeeeeeeeeeks! If you would put salt on them they would not like that... period.
I love Spinach.... going to see if I can find that variety of seeds... There also used to be something like that called Lambs Quarter spinach.... My Grandpa used to grow that....
Jazzy.... Hah! "Gourds".... That's about right... similar to water-balloons.
I DO have a Lilac bush! I've had a tomato cage over it, and just took the tarp off, and it has BUDS! I'm so excited.... The rose-bushes ALSO show signs of growth... ! THEY know! And a few of my tomato seeds have sprouted! So SEE? Spring is almost here.... in about another 3 months.

Good morning friends- gearing up for another busy week.
Loveroflife, yes, my client is working me hard right now, but this week should be better (one can only hope!)
About the wood chuck limerick, that is an old east coast thing that my dad used to say. Teka knows it too. She says the answer is 700 pounds for the answer!
Patty- glad the baby goldens made you smile. There is a group on FB called "I Love Golden Retrievers" with the cutest pics of the golden puppies through the seniors. My sister has one, and she is the love of our entire family. Wishing you a quick return home this week after you are stabilized.
