Lover I thought it was Santa Maria del Fiore - I spent a fortnight in Florence when I was 13, have never forgotten it. An orgy of beauty! Architecture, Art, Sculpture - (oh and also mosquitos, medieval drainage system and guys on scooters who would mow down their pregnant mother if she was in their way). I was in Northern Italy on Lake Garda a few years ago. Different, much more like Switzerland, Austria, alpine. Fabulous. Love Italy!
I am so with you on the 1 chromosome away from a monkey. I see the little South American monkeys and the Great Apes of Africa in Dublin Zoo and what are they but SO HUMAN, or is it we who are SO MONKEY? I guess the monkeys were here first.....
Orangutans in Dublin Zoo.

Morning Owlies, Loving all the apes nd monkeys and Italy
Better today started as much range of motion yesterday as I could tolerate after the shoulder humerus xray showed negative for a fracture. Seriously, someday my right ankle/foot will kill me. I have had dozens of falls because of it over almost 55 years. It's an old polio weakness. Maybe up to about ten head injuries all on the same left side. Ankle turns outward right or forefoot doesn't lift (dorsiflex) just a smidgen and down I go. I should consider a brace. My brothers back in a brace the last few years.
Off to lunch with Dear brother & wife. Dear cousin & husband, and his sister & cousin in from Norway.
It's back to being ugly here. No ones ever seen anything like this. Grey, damp, and cold.
Patty, then you are familiar with Reiman. Remember when the had no ads. Glossy paper. Their Birds and Blooms mag was so much fun. Where were they in Wisconssin? The whole town grew up around the magazine.
-
-
Patty, look at the bottom of screen shot, where the smile face is. Tap that.
-
Patty they are with the emoticons (at the top of the box you type your comment in).
-
Smaarty Best wishes for your ultrasound tomorrow. XX
-
. All right got it. Thanks ladies.
Sas. Enjoy your day. Sounds like a afternoon of laughter and smiled. I don't remember the reiman.
Turning out to be a pretty day here today. Ds2 spent the night with a friend after they hung here all day snd ds1 had a friend stay overnight here. The upstairs looks like a tornado went thru it. That kind of thing used to would drive me crazy. Couldn't sit down and rest with it like that. I am learning to slow down. It's not that big of deal. They will clean it up this evening. The world wont end because of it. I just won't let ds1 friends mom go up there when she comes to pick him up. Lol. Live and learn , right ?
I just returned from taking ds2 to town to get valentines cards and candy for his class party. I remember we didn't buy valentines cards, we made them We only went to one store ( course we walked almost the entire store) and my back is major pain. Grr. Hate it !!! I will continue trying new things until we find something that can give me quality of life or I die. Whichever comes first. Someone gave dh yet another natural pain reliving miracle tea. The recipe includes ginger root and Avacado leaves. Gotta go to the Hispanic store for them. Maybe tr it tomorrow.
Hootie hoo.

Ms. Sas, you went dumpster diving and fell in one?!!! Or did you fall off one of those chairs you picked up at the dumpsterwhile trying them out? Oh my dear! What are we going to do with you?? Muscle fatigue and a weaken ankle is a perfect recipe for disaster. I am glad you didn't break any bones. You need a break from the shooting arrows. You have been attacked left and right the last few years. Need to send you a big enough spiritual shield. Hugs to you.
Edit to add: Have your sweetheart build you floor and wall cushion through out the house since he is good with his hands. I am glad he is there to take care of you. What a sweet man.
-
Patty, I really hope you find that fine balance. Hugs to you also.
Feline, what a blessing to have the experience. My DD loves the architecture, art, and sculpture of the Medieval period and would love to visit Europe again.
Ms. Smaarty, best wishes on the US this Monday. Hoping that the pain is from the disruption of scar tissue.

who's watching the Super Bowl? I'm working and listening to it. Did they really boooo Tom Brady when they brought out the MVP's from the past?
-
Sas, met his mom in November (Parents are divorced and dad isn't really in the picture. It's a shame because he is such a gentleman. His mom did a great job.). Our bdays are six days apart. Both families went out to dinner. It was like I've known her for a long time. We all went out to dinner for Christmas. DD1 says his mom really likes her. That's a plus since he's an only child. DH is an only child and I wasn't really accepted. He even commented that he would help us around the house if we needed him. Can we all say awwww! Please say some prayers for his mom. We just found out she had surgery for ovarian cancer two weeks ago.
Sas, seriously think about a brace for your ankle. It's dangerous falling that many times and you don't want to push your luck. Hope you had a good lunch.
Patty, would seeing a physical therapist for your back help? I hate hearing how it gives such pain. Please try to not push your self too much. If you can take advantage of motorized carts at the store.
Boyd, glad to hear it was B9.
Smaarty, in your pocket tomorrow
I know I've missed a lot of you gals. Hope you all are ding well.
-
Sas, I'm glad to hear you are not broken. Take it easy with that elliptical, OK?
Loved the pictures of all you gorgeous girls!
-
Good evening friends- I watched the Superbowl. Mostly because I got invited to a SB party and it was great fun. Could not stay until the end though and came home to hear on TV the Broncos won. Denver will be a happy city tomorrow. Not like they were not before, just sayin!
-
SAS, Have you considered an air brace? It's clear plastic and you blow it up to make it stiff. Maybe if you do something mild now, you won't have to progress to something ugly. I worry that your head always seems to contact something hard.
-
jazzy. Lol. I figured you would have some kind of plans today. Glad you enjoyed it.
Loverly. Lol. I got all my sistas with. Come-on everybody lets dance ...great flashback.
Kathy. Re motorized carts. Umm I don't use them. I know its prideful and just plain silly but its a pride thing. Both for me and dss. I look very young ( OK that may be prejudiced. Lol ) well um young and healthy. I hate people looking at me like "hmmmph. Lazy girl". I know..I know ... I Gotta learn to put that pride aside for an easier trip and more importantly an easier NEXT day .
So I've been incredibly exhausted and in pain since my trip to town this am I've just laid on the couch and lounged in the recliner. No sleep but don't wanna move and don't touch me ...or breathe on pe .. Or even look at me .. Just leave me alone when. I feel this horrible. Gonna try to get some sleep and wake revving to go

Wren you are so right. Concrete and ceramic tile--not fun. Once the fall begins, it can't be stopped. Serious, the thought going down this time was "this is going to be bad". But it could have been allot worse. Flip-flop front caught on and eighth of an inch wood stripping at the door. I have used an air brace before. Inexpensive and trustworthy. But the toe tip thing. Not sure how to work with that? Any ideas?
Patty, strain & sprains take months and months to heal. Uncomplicated Fractures 6-8 weeks. I've always said that the inventor of the bubble will be rich. Invisible bubble, LOL.
These are the chairs. The seats on my curbside finds are much nicer. Exact number of back slats with the curve on the inner six. The outside slats are straight. The curve on the slats are very comfortable. My chairs are a high gloss black. These are listed at overstock.com at 150$ Someone was just emptying the house out and we stopped. I said I was interested in the chairs. He said 250$ for everything. I declined. He said well if you come back in a couple of hours and I'm not here, just take them. We did and they were still at the curb. We went back and got the exerciser and a electric keyboard. Nice haul.
-
PATTY, GIRL.............I'll come all the way to Arkansas and smack you. (chevy said that). Use that machine, if it will mean that much difference. Think of it as a time extender with the DS'S & DH.
-
Hi Cubbie, Thanks
Also, thanks for the name "elliptical". You must know something about them? Yeah, it'll be months before I can use it. Been on this road with shoulder arm injury at the end of 2013. Both shoulders a few days apart. One was a fall in a lawn covered dog hole and the other was wet ceramic from wet dog paws at the door. I don't walk in the lawnanymore and careful with their wet feet now.
How you doing?
Jazzy sounds fun. Did you get in on the pool?
-
Kathy, thanks, I do have to do something. I've made all these rules and then I find a new way to fall. The fiancé sounds wonderful. And his Mom liking her. YAY. His Mom sounds wonderful too. Sorry, she has trouble. Sucks. What are the chances of the kids living close after they are married?

Morning gals.... Well the Bronco's won, but it was a pretty sloppy game! I went to bed during the 3rd quarter... Manning was dropped, intercepted more times than a beginners foot-ball game. Without the Bronco's defense, the Panthers should have had it in the bag.
I woke up with all the blasts and fireworks going off.... Denver is a rowdy town anyway, when it comes to all the bars down in LoDo...(Lower Downtown) And they all go nuts for the slightest reason! Last time, cars were turned over, and burned, stores looted, and all because of a bunch of drunks celebrating what-ever gets in their heads.... and terrorizing everything in their path.
Not very good reviews either! Guess I'm just not a foot-ball fan....
Sass, I have a Recumbent Bike, but still haven't used it much... Only reason is, I don't have room to keep it in the house, so it is in the storage garage, until spring! It's really comfortable, and the Doc thought it would help strengthen my hip.... but I get winded so FAST when I was starting out on it... I know it will help a lot of things though...
Now I'm not going to lecture anyone on flip-flops, but MAN, those are the most dangerous things on the planet... PLUS a wet tile or linoleum floor? I keep a little "water-rug" by the back door.... It is rubber backed, but flat fiber on the top.... We don't step on the linoleum tiles without wiping our feet... And we have so much ICE half the time!
http://www.heartfiremassage.com/blog/10-reasons-flips-flops-are-horrible-for-you
Maybe just wear them in bed!

The BEST part of the Super Bowl! Better than the 1/2 time show, AND the game..............Lady Gaga nailed it!!!!!
-
Ever seen the Saturday Night Live Skit on that? (worth watching the whole way through)

there's a big difference between flip flops and sandals. Check out Birkenstock site. These have arch support, heel support they were designed in Germany to be a walking/hiking shoe. True flip flops are inherently dangerous for anybody.
