Good morning ladies- what beautiful and in some cases, cute and funny photos you have shared! The one of the camel and little boy in the desert I have seen before and is just one of my fav pics. How can you not laugh or at least smile at that one?

Rose- glad you enjoyed your parade of trees and no doubt more to come. I am glad you had a good day with family, but sorry too there was some sadness for some too. You are making every day special for yourself and those around you.

Patty- hootie hoo back to you! I hope you are feeling better after everything that went on sister.

Hard to believe Xmas is already next week! Today is the busiest mailing day of the year!

    More snow coming, yay!

Chevy, are you making fun of me....or pretending to compete?? Lol

I am not fond of the holiday banter in my family so I have trees everywhere to make me smile....whatever it takes. Lol

Good morning ladies. Gotta a lot of hair today. Gotta down some pain pills. Sometimes I wish I could quit, but it dies get me going in the morning and gets my mind off of me.

    Rosie, hope you are feeling better today......and don't look at chevy's trees, I don't think they are hers...I don't see a pole..lol

Oh yes they are mine! The pole is just not visible.... I take the branches off to expose the pole....It's easier to climb the pole that way.... Yes, I am always pretending! You have to pretend to stay 1/2 way happy sometimes.

And what are you doing Susan? What do you mean you got a lot of hair today? Do you not have a lot some days? Am I reading this right? And no.... don't quit.... Can't quit until we say so.............

Same with you Rosie! Damn! Is there anything we can do to help you? I mean I could call the Fire Department guys to come check on you.....

(and I would post a notsoappropriate picture of them, but I can't pull up Google Images) Later.... Next time!

yes sometimes I am bald and sometimes I have a lot of hair. Or sometimes I have to do people's hair...u

You know how needy people can get...especially around the holidays....everyone has to be pretty within those two weeks.....like we don't know how you usually walk around. Blahhhhhh

Besides mailing a package out, that's all I have left to do...hair until the 23rd....got some still trying to get in. Only have energy for so many. Who knows what they will look like if I am tired and still do their hair...ha...maybe that would be funny...not to them of course, but I would laug

So I just changed my bill payments from online accounts to sending me the paper bills! Just like in the "old days"....Ha! Because if something happened to me, my Husband does not have a chance in hell of figuring out anything on a "computer!"

I doubt if he could even turn it on.... He could rebuild a 1957 Chevy engine, changing it from an automatic to a 4 speed stick shift with a chrome blower on it.... block the heat-risers, but a computer is just way beyond anything he could work with.

So we have reverted to paper-billing....

NOW, they won't shut our water off, turn off our electricity, and my cell phone... bills will come in the mail....

I wish I could find a picture of the hair-pieces we used to wear! Those big huge barrel-curls, all piled up on top of our head!

I used to style these, and wear them!

I LOVED those hair-pieces! And at night, you just unclipped them, and put them back on the styro-foam head.... I almost went to work at a wig shop, styling the wigs and hair-pieces, but it would have been full-time, and I didn't want to be away that much.

I did hair in my house though.... but all my friends had to have the same hair style as me.... Hah! And I would charge 1 dollar.... ! I still cut my hair... and use hot-rollers every morning.... AND tease it.... hard to break old habits.

well, nick is out of surgery, it went well. When he was awake enough he thought how cool it is to have a stump! He's funny that way and the drugs are talking. He says he's at a 3-4, so feeling pretty good. Tomorrow will be a better idea of how this goes. He almost didn't have the surgery, his doc was waivering because of liability issues. Nick and my daughter had to sign some extra forms.

Now it's on to healing. He won't get to try a new leg for about 7 weeks until his stump has all healed.

Keeping my fingers crossed. This is before.

Smarty- what a brave young man. I hope he continues to heal and adapt through all the changes. Hugs to you and your family.

He has a strong spirit, I can see that from the photo.

thanks jazzy. He'll do fine now that the dam thing is gone. I was kidding with him that last year Santa got me new boobs for Xmas, this year, Santa was getting him a new leg! He liked that.

He's got rehab and some desensitizing work to go through, but that should be a breeze compared to what he's been dealing with for the last 2-1/2 years. He's only 26 but his grandpa lost his leg at 21 and he will help him with this

Aww, those sweet and hopeful, but sad eyes he has. It is a good sign that the pain is in the 3-4 range now compared to what he had to endure before surgery. Yay!! Here to speedy recovery and on to a newlife...

Smarrty, YAY 3-4 light years from 8-10. Except based on all you said he lived mostly a ten. I've live 5-7 most of my life with many times to a 8-10, but really short lived in the space of 50 years A intermittent 5-7 that flows back in forth or maybe lower is doable. 10 prolonged takes you to the world of suicide consideration or praying to die. For him to KNOW that is condition wasn't resolvable and make the decision knowing that it may not resolve the pain was such a risk. But certainly states how bad the pain was. God Bless him. And his doc for going through it. I can imagine the unusual consent forms from everyone. Sheesh. His pic is great. Please, post all details about recovery and pain etc. His is a story to be told to others with RSD or the newer name I forget which is DGS's problem. YAY, so happy for all of you!

Chevy, you are so funny and right Dear Greg handled the money. I was just this flittering work butterfly. No consideration for the money I earned. Made him crazy b/c he had to pay bills and I would forget to bring my paycheck home. He used to call my secretary and ask her to put my paycheck in my purse. This went on for years until direct deposit was the routine. Then I did get serious when Greg was dying. I learned on line banking. I track it daily, plus my chase credit cards, and mutual funds. Oh vey, the mutual funds. Chit.

Loverly, Sad eyes? Where? That alert in recovery room, That kind of smile............wow. Worked it.....He's GREAT! If that was insensitive I'm sorry.........

Chevy, did you say you have a tree in your bathroom? Good grief, you couldn't get a tree in my bathroom, let alone have room for anyone else. I'm not sure you could get Jazzy's little tree in my bathroom, it wouldn't even fit on the countertop.

    Jazzy, that's a terrible pun.

Smaarty, I'm glad to hear Nick's surgery went well. I'm sure the surgery is nothing compared to how he felt before. Wishing him a fast recovery.
