Skin Cancers Reacting to Chemo?

Has anyone with skin cancers had them to respond to chemo?  I have skin cancers on my hands and arms from living out in the sun all my life.  The chemo appears to be working on them.  By that I mean it looks as if the chemo is buring them off.  I have an appointment with my oncologist this week and plan to talk to him about what is going on.

Just was wondering if I was the only one with this problem.

Yes, I had 2 that went away with one coming back.  My wonderful Dermatologist was not surprised said it was not unusual.

The brown spots/age spots disappeared from my arms.  Very weird.  They did come back.  My face was spotless as well.

Wow, this is just plain intetersting.  Wish some of my freckles went away!  I'll have to check to see if any moles I had went away (I have soo many, it's hard to tell)

I had a basal cell carcinoma removed a couple of months ago.  I had chemo in 06.  I also spent WAY too much time in the sun as a teenager. Frown

Chemo didn't change any of my moles.

I have not noticed any think going on with moles but my hands, arms, chest, and shoulders are covered with red sploches where there are skin cancers.  I had no idea my skin was so bad.  I do hopebut the time I have finished my chemo(Texotere) the end of May most of the skin cancers are gone and don't come back.

My left hand is down right painful.  The lotions I help some but I hope I can get a prescription that will do better.

Mimidi, I saw your question and thought I'd offer a response, even though I don't usually read the Stage III forum.

I had some skin spots on my hands and arms that turned angry red and scaly during chemo (4 rounds of Taxotere & Cytoxan).  When I asked my med onco about it, she said that was pretty common.  She said chemo for BC can actually "cure" some skin cancer lesions.  I don't know if I had skin cancer in any of those places - I guess I'd had a couple of "actinic keratosis" spots or something, in the past.  I have no idea whether they were cured.  I didn't even know I had spots in those particular places until they turned so red and nasty during chemo.

Otter thank you for replying.  I knew I had some skin cancers  but no idea how many and some sports until the achemo turned them red and nasty.

Otter thank you for replying.  I knew I had some skin cancers  but no idea how many and some sports until the chemo did start working on them.  I hope the chemo finishes them off and they don't come back.

They are red and nasty looking.
