You are one brave woman.......but then, why not with a terrific bod! Yes, Marga is amazing. She will be impressed with the calendar and you!!! You need to take some credit. After all, you work hard as an athlete.......hiking, mountain climbing, biking, etc! There is going to be a symposium in Chicago too. I will be going to that and hope to see Laura (litmismuffit) and Brenda (jeskachi) there.
-
Linda...I just got a GREAT idea! I would LOVE to go to Chicago. I am going to start searching for a low airfare, and if I can find one before now and then, maybe Mike will let me fly solo and come and join the fun! Will you be staying in Chicago over night? It would be great if several of the girls could get together for a weekend! I am putting that flight on my airewatch now! EXCITED!!! :-)

Poo. I wish I would be home. I guess I can't complain though cuz I'll be in Ireland. (c: I'm trying to figure out if I can go to one of the others but with going to NOLA 12/8 it's not looking good.
-
I was scheduled for exchange today but found Marga so now have to wait until December, lucky me! Just noticed it when I flipped my calendar. (c:
-
Sandy, that would be GREAT! You will love, love, love, Chicago! We will have a fabulous time. I hope it works out. I plan on staying, but haven't made any firm plans yet. GO AIRWATCH! Keep me posted! XOXO LInda
PS. Tell Mike I will take good care of you! -
Anne, you are and look amazing! I agree you have played a big role in creating that beautiful bod! What's more beautiful is your spirit and joy for life - oh, and courage to pose for that calendar! Marga's symposium sounds great. Can't wait to hear about it from those of you who attend. The D.C. one is closest for me, but not sure I will be able to go. I would love to, but financially it's probably not in the cards. Maybe next year though.
-
Adey, I don't understand your post? Did I miss something? What do you mean you mean you just found Marga? Who was going to do your exchange? Lucky you......Going to Ireland!
-
My original PS was going to put silicone implants in today but I cancelled it due to finding Marga. (c: Sorry for being disjointed! Wish I could meet you all when you're here.
-
Adey, you're making the right move. Well, at least for ME, it would have been the right move. I didn't find Marga till after I'd had implants for over a year. What pain I had with those things! I had high hopes for implants, and it just didn't work out. I'm glad you're changing horses mid-stream, so to speak. And Ireland?? I want to take a cycling vaction there soon!!
When is Marga in Chicago?? I've never been there. It would be such a blast to meet everyone there for a night. Not sure I can swing it, though, with work. But now I'm mulling it over!
-
Anne...Nov. 19. It would be great to have a little get together with all Marga's mermaids!
-
Hey Adey, Your in Chicago, right? Dr. Massey is having a symposium there on Nov. 19. A few of us in the Chicago area are planning on going and some are planning to fly in. You will almost be one of Marga's Mermaids, so please plan on joining us............. Anyone else out there game?
Anne, please try. We'll do up the city big time and take Marga hostage!!!! It's on a Saturday, so put your time off in on the schedule. I'll want you to autograph my calendar.
Adey, I too had an implant Almost 1 year to my DX my body rejected it. Had it removed and lived with a horrible protheses until our angel Marga came along
Linda -
Sandy, you can fly into ORD or MDW. Either is fine. I will pick you up @ either airport. South Bend, IN is another option. Anne if you decide to come, try to coordinate with Sandy.
Brenda. I hope you are doing well. Let us know how things are going
Linda -
Oh, wish I could come to Chicago!! Surgery Oct 6 in Charleston, so just won't be able to do it this time. Just paid for a wedding in August, then the holidays ;o) Sounds like a blast though!!
Still battling infection. Have been on antibiotics since April. Tried to go off for 10 days, and abscess returned. So very frustrating. From what I've read it can stay in your system forever. Hoping it doesn't impact my Oct surgery.
Best to all you girls!!
-
Linda- I'll be overseas on the 19th. Is anyone going to the Denver one on 9/24?
-
Hey everyone-
Sorry I've been absent. We got back a week ago and since then I've been trying to get my stomach settled. Turns out the antibiotic and me don't get along, I've been fighting stomach upset and diarrhea for the past week. I think I was on my way to having c.diff but switched to a different antibiotic yesterday and it seems to be working. Diarrhea is on the way out (heh) and my appetite is coming back, finally. Which is good since I need to up my protein intake.
Everything is healing well. I still have one drain and it is putting out a LOT. I guess it's good the fluid is coming out instead of staying in, but yeesh. This may be in awhile. My incisions all look pretty good. A couple of small spots opened up but I don't think it's anything to worry about. 95% of the incision healed really cleanly already (I'm 2.5 weeks from surgery). The tricky spots are in the center, right on the hairline, so if they look a little gnarly when they heal it won't matter. I just hope that's the worst healing issue I have to deal with... I need a break
Anne: love the calendar pic! Are you showing off those perfect yoga boobies in the actual calendar, or is it more demure than that?
-
Joni, I sure hope you kick that infection. Miserable, miserable stuff and that's the last thing you should have to worry about. Fingers crossed October surgery goes as planned.
-
Brenda, no visible boobies in the calendar. Everyone's photos are so tastefully done, to hide any "parts"!! My actual picture is of the side, with me climbing up a rock. So my arm hides my boobs, and my leg keeps the full butt from showing, though my SGAP scar is visible.
Okay, I'm going to see about a chicago weekend. If I'm not doing Pilates training (I want to get certified to teach) that weekend, it may just work!!
-
Linda, I talked to Mike about it last night. I told him I may be going to Chicago on the weekend of November 19 to have a get together with my BCO Marga's Mermaids so we could all go the her symposium. He said it would be fine. He asked me who was going to pick me up at the airport and I told him you would, and that made him more comfortable with the idea. Again, it all depends if I can find a good deal on fights. I have tagged airwatch and have not got a bite yet. When will you be arriving in Chicago?
I go next month to Charleston for my touch-ups! I will be able to show everyone my final results!!!!!
-
Brenda...I am so happy you are healing well...glad you made it home from NOLA before this bad weather too! Hoping your new antibiotics will work well with your tummy and you continue to heal without any problems!
Joni...Thinking of you...hope your abscess go away! Heal girl, HEAL!!!!
-
Whoa, I usually get these postings in my email and I haven't, so I've got to see what happened. So, glad I checked in to see if anyone posted, because there is a lot of news. Brenda, glad you are back home and healing. I'm sure those little spots will close up in good time. Joni, you must be so sick of the infection. May!be Marga can do a little debridement while she is in there and nip that nuance in the bud. Wish you could come, but understand completely. Sandy, I hope it works out, because we will have a great time. I'll start looking into accommodations. Anne, I really hope your schedule works out. Maybe you can show us a little Pilate's! Brenda, you've signed up for the symposium, haven't you? We need you there too. Adey, Ireland will be so nice. How long will you be there. Business or pleasure?
Take care everyone,
Linda
-
My stage 2 is tentatively scheduled for that week, a few days before her talk. If I'm feeling up to it, I'll def be there.
-
Brenda, can you add me for Oct 6 with Dr Massey? Stage 3. Not sure what all wiill be done besides nipples. After looking at pics, she doesn't think she will have to do much!
Just read where Southern Living is doing a "Taste of Charleston" event at Boone Plantation that weekend. I am so excited to go. Supposed to have 40 restaurants represented.....yummmmy!!! Hope I feel up to going. We toured Boone Plantation before my Stage 1. It was wonderful.
Joni
-
Linda- Pure pleasure! But I am still cheesed off that I won't be home to meet you guys when you come to Chicago. Next time!
-
In-network denied. Poo. It begins! (c:
They say David Song can do it.
-
Sandy, when will you be in Charleston for touch ups?
-
Joni, We fly in on October 17 for my in office procedure at 3 pm. We will leave the next day...a very short trip! You will be there on Oct. 6...right? We barely miss each other! How is your infection?
-
Does anyone know what time Dr. M. symposium begins in Chicago? Making plans on going, but need to find out if I need to fly in on Friday or Saturday. I wish all of us could meet and go together, but I understand priorities! I have been looking at flight prices...they are still high for the flight from Nashville to Chicago...still waiting for them to go down! But my husband is all for me going and having a good time...it may be because he plans on hunting that weekend...LOL!!!! Financially, it will be difficult, but this is something I really want to do, and he has no problem with me going. I know Linda is going for sure...how about anyone else???? A Marga Mermaid get-together!!!! FUN!!! I am SOOO excited!!!!!
-
Any other Chicago Symposium goers out there? Chicago is a WONDERFUL City! We will have a wonderful time!!! Be there or be Square.
-
Sandy, Well, I knew you would probably only be there a short time. Is this the end for you? Is this for tatoo touch ups?
When my abscess returned, they cultured it again and this time ran sensitivity testing. It just came back and come to find out, it is resistant to one of the antibiotics I was on. So, started a new antibiotic. This means my timeline starts over, so will be on these antibiotics for 6-12 months. The abscess is totally healed and looks really good. Kind of like a small scar from a drain tube.
Still fretting over not being able to go to Chicago with you ladies.
-
Adey: Don't give up hope on the in network denial - my first request was denied also (sometimes I think it is just standard procedure). The denial stated that there was a plastic surgeon within 5 miles (in Princeton NJ) - of course, when I call that PS his recording talked all about botox and the latest anti-anging procedures and his office practically laughed when I asked if they performed microsurgical breast reconstruction. There were no microsurgeons within 30 miles of me but even if there were, there are only a handful of surgeons in the country that are doing some of the types of procedires the Charleston/NOLA surgeons are doing. Is your next step to appeal?
Chicago sounds fantastic though probably not in the cards for me right now. Anyone thinking about the DC symposium???? Take care! Liz
