Hi Pee,
Hope you are planning your trips and packing instead of hanging around here. We miss hearing from you!

I am hanging in here. The shock of my life was finding out that I have developed COPD and now have to be on oxygen...yippee! My last hospital trip was the final straw which was how I ended up in hospice care. I am in the program early on purpose to get full use of it's services. They are going to help my husband deal with issues we/he have. They have helped get me in to a hospice in SF for the week I am gond in case I come down with a problem aka. sick. Then I have a place to go for help and care. In the first week I have had 1 dr. visit, 2 or 3 social worker visits, and 2 nurse visits. We are so impressed with their promptness in seeing to our needs. So far all I can see is positive from joining Hospice. May God bless us all with such love and success.

Wonderful to see you post, Pee! I am sorry to hear that COPD is now an issue but glad that hospice is being such a positive support group. I hope they continue to take very good care of you and make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Make sure you are very clear about communicating your needs and wishes, too.
Hugs to you,
Katie -
I am so glad hospice is working out for you, with all the services they provide. It sounds like the perfect solution to helping you and your dh get on with your lives after you've had enough of treatments. I didn't know that about hospice.
-
Wishing you well, Pee, and keeping you in my prayers.
-
Thinking of you, pee. It's good that you have hospice to call whenever you need them.

It's good to hear that you got in hospice early and will be able to take full advantage of the services offered. The San Francisco arrangement sounds great. I hope you will be able to thoroughly enjoy your time there (but do take lots of warm clothes - it can be really cold and windy).
Keeping you in my prayers and hoping you have many good days ahead. Sorry about the oxygen and the COPD. Cancer - the gift that keeps on giving. Crap.
Hugs, Jeanne

Sending love to you, Pee.

Pee, just wanted you to know you are in my prayers and I hope you have a great trip!
-
It will be so great to see your daughter in San Francisco especially in two performances. That will be very special. Warm hugs and good thoughts surround you coming from a few miles south!
-
Pee,
You are incredibly organized... arranged hospice care while traveling. I didn't even know that this was possible. COPD is an unfortunate turn of events to be sure. I don't even know what it is, but anything with a four letter acronym doesn't sound good. Must go research.
Enjoy your trip, enjoy seeing SF and your family.

Love to you Pee,
I am so glad Hospice is there for you. What a relief it must be to feel that security. I hate to hear about the COPD, but glad they are on top of it. Pleasant travels!

pee,
Hope you are soaking up some sun and love in San Fran!!! Just popping in to tell you that I lit a candel at mass and prayed for devine mercy for you! XOXOXOXOX
-
i wish you happiness at this time. (did you not have a choir or something?). I remember something that we had in common, but can't find what it is.

I want to thank everyone for all your love and concern and prayers...especially the prayers. They are so important to me having others pray for my well being to God. And I am doing well so far. I feel so much better being off of chemo you would not believe. I am not as tired and definetely do not feel sick lke I had. I still sleep in but not like I had been.
My trip to SF to see my daughter was fantastic. She took excellent care of me and made me feel so loved and wanted. She had an angel give her money to take a trip here to FL when we can arrange it. It is amazing the angels out there. The world is not the awful place many make it seem to be...it is individuals who are not nice...who share evil...not the majority of people but the minority.
Last weekend in April my cousin whom I have not talked to for over 25 years is coming to visit. Not sure the reason for this but it should be interesting. I am a very conservative Christian and he is a born again...nothing like me or for me. I hope he is not planning on 'saving my soul' because that will not go over. I am very private and personal in that area so we shall see. I hope he is coming to simply make amends for 'mistakes' he made when his mom died (she was like a second mom to me and I was not happy with how he treated her and let him know). That would be a good scenario and what I am hoping for.

I have more I wrote but it got lost. I will add more later but it is late so I will end it here. Love to all in abundance.
-
Yes Apple. I had a choir and I directed several musicals. You were right about the connectionl
-
Thank you so much for the candle. I think candles are such a special way of praying...sending your prayer up to God on the smoke as it rises.
-
So wonderfule to hear from you pee!, glad the trip out to SFO ent so well. contunied prayers and positive thoughts
-
Pee, you sound great! It is amazing once we get rid of that Toxic chemo...how great we can feel.
Hope your QOL is good.
-
Pee, it's so wonderful to hear from you! I'm glad things are going well now.
And you're right - there are so many good people out there.
