I found a paper from www.medscape.com/wiewarticle/550499.

there is a line in it that state "nodes with tumor-cell deposits 2.0 < or equal mm in diameter were designanted pN0((i+) nanometastisis.  what do you make of this.  the median size was 0.14.

Unless I am reading this paper wrong, it does not give a stage such as stage 0.  This is such a confusing paper.

Does this mean the patients started with metastases or the diagnosis was changed to nanomatastes after finding Pn0(i+) < .2 mm cells in the lymph nodes after being looked at? This is a scary paper if it means the diagnosis was changed. If the patients started with metastases then its not so scary for me. I am not understanding the paper properly I guess.  Can't the occasional cell get into the lymph nodes just by pressure from the surgery alone? Can a pathologist tell if the cells came from the surgery? Thanks.
