Trachea nodes cancerous

I was just dxed in Feb and am still pretty much in the testing process. It was determined that I would do neo-chemo to shrink my tumour. Today I was told I have large mets and lots of small ones to my lungs and liver-I have seen things about that on here but the part that freaked me is they are saying heavy node involvment at the trachea. Also the right arm, shoulder and armpit.

Has anyone had this happen in the trachea area and did you go after biopsy or just continue your treatment as planned? I opted out of it (biopsy)  because I wanted the chemo started right away. The tumour in my chest is still growing-I can feel it- so it needs meds now-in my opinion.

Insurance co was trying to deny the cheomo because of the stage-that was a reality check.I am going to find out about that tomorrow.

Hi Lily :>  I don't have any advice for your trachea nodes, but the stage IV forum is pretty active and if you post there you will get some good info and support.  I only check this forum every once in a while, but I check the stage IV area every day.

I can tell you that many of us push for biopsies because pathology can change.  I had a lung biopsy to make sure my met were also her2+ like my primary in my breast.

Just know you are not alone on this journey and there is always hope!  lisa

Lily, I was just dx'd with mets to the lungs and nodes in the chest and neck area. I had several nodes by my trachea light up on the pet scan too.  They biopsied a lymphnode in my breast area and of course that came back positive.  My onco said that the ones by the trachea might have lite up because they are reactionary. That's really all I know about it.  I am now on treatments weekly but wont know how they are working for another 8 wks.  Good luck to you. Let us know what happens.
