TYKERB or HERCEPTIN !

Hello everone.I wish you all the very best on your treatments and all the way through.

I am here for my mom who is a HER2+++ since 2006 and dignosed with multiple brain tumor last Feb and that time ONC told me he will swich her on tykerb and off the herceptin but because she had bad reaction to tykerb and went throght liver toxicity just 2 months after taking tykerb her ONC stoped tykerb and asked her to go back on herceptin but explained that herceptin won't cover the brain! Actually my mom stop taking any medicine since June 2010 and after lung mets found on November2010 she start taking just TOXETERE 45Mg every 3 weeks and recent Scans of lung came up clear. Now she is doing all fine with 7 almost 1cm and 2 cm tumors in her brain and body is all clear . My mom she lives in another country that herceptin is not availabe as USA and price is 3500 $ every21 days and not cover with insurance! that is one of the reason she can't have herceptin and I should say she was here and got her treatment in Yale cancer center in CT but she wished to travel backed to her home .In fact she choose between herceptin and her own house and that is too much for me and I am so scared and guilty to let her be without herceptin .

Anybody here could give me some advice that what will happend to her without herceptin and if it's possible to try tykerb again as her liver is back to normal now?( Her ONC is suggested not to go on tykerb b/c of reaction and just taking herceptin)

Also I try to provie herceptin in here and mailed for her to her country but seems so impossible to all the pharmacist and even my mom's onc here at Yale! I just start asking everybody how can I find herceptin ? her ONC said they just have it in clinic and can't hand it to family of a patient.
