    Hello all,

The pics are great 3jays, good to see and heartwarming to think of you guys enjoying time together and making memories.

Chrissy, you are one wise woman. One step at a time and I will get through. I had another chest xray today. And we are upping the dose once again, but it is my full time job now, this taking care of myself. I am picturing you in the chair with legs up knitting up a storm.

Lisa,  good luck with the travels. There always comes a point when there is no place like home. Are you going a different route on the way back?

Kathy, thinking of you as the wedding is approaching,  Hope for clear skies and calm hearts.

    My brain is fading.

    Good Night!

Lisa, sounds like you're at the point where you'd like to be magically airlifted to home!  It surely seems to be a great trip, though, and I'm enjoying seeing all the pictures.

Thanks for the good wishes, Mac.  The weather forecast sounds almost ideal--rain-free and a high in the very low 80's, which sure beats the 90's. The cake icing and my everybody's make-up shouldn't melt!  And, taking care of  yourself is just what you should be doing right now!  I hope the increased dose will help.

    Hugs to all,

    Kathy

3jays just loved the pictures. Would so love to be able to come over and visit with you.

I have a kidney infection which is making me feel so awful. Have anti Bs and of course I have to have a scan just to check things out. I also feel really out of sorts with RA and Fibro but I know why. Went round cousin's farm on the back of his quad bike and it was really rough country climbing up to 2000ft. Lucky it was last week as the snow is now down to about that level. I don't think my posterior is ever going to be the same again but it did shake up the joints rather badly.

Must think about what to have for dinner, won't say tea or that will confuse folks.

    Big hugs

Awe Alyson sure hope that kidney infection disappears quickly with the aid of the anti-B's.  You were on the back of a quad?  What were you thinking?  As long as the views were well worth the pain.  Take care you.

Nancy sure hope the extra meds help get you back to feeling more like yourself.  Your job right now is looking after you, the other jobs are not going anywhere and will still be there when you are well.

Kathy hoping everything goes well on the day.  Once the madness is over you will wonder why you were panicing and thoroughly enjoy the celebrations.

Well both the back and front of DH's new sweater is complete and I am about to begin the sleeves.  This is the bit I dislike as her has such long arms I feel like I'm knitting a scarf! twice!  The chair will be placed inside with my butt on it tomorrow.......I hope!  Got a friend coming over, was going to come yesterday but was waylaid, so I'm keeping everything crossed that can be crossed that it happens.  This has been the longest week......knowing that my beautiful comfy new chair is so close and yet so far......pure torture!......lol.

    Love n hugs all!   Chrissy

Lisa, Have a good trip back. Your pics have been spectacular. I don't envy the ride. DH and I went on a trip 3000 miles total and we both agreed that it was too much. We plan on flying to where we want to be and then renting a car from here on out if possible.

safe travels, Lisa.. a really long ride, but worth it.. the views are spectacular. i'll be anxiously watching for your pics. seeing them in cape cod, and about really did make me homesick..

the oldest is going for a week to mv. so, i'll get good pics. im afraid travel is out, for a long while for me, so its the only way i'll see them on the island, for now..

seriously, i want to go to disney with them. i'll settle for orlando; but can't even make boca very well right now.. leg cramps are too bad..

yesterday, marybe and us, went everywhere, a big bang before she left!

i spent the day in bed, i had to dose with synthyroid and prednisone, bc i didn't take it while she was here.. i get REAL nasty on it, so thought discretion was the better part of valor..

off to the dermo tommorrow, again, and then another dosing on synthyroid at night.. it'll be payback time this weekend for the last weeks fun.. and it WAS fun!!!

marybe is a good fit for me.. she's so much quieter than i expected, though.. we talked about what we thought a week together would be like, and it was lovely!!

even got the hangin out in bed watching tv time, we planned.. like a pajama sleepover when we were kids...

what a wonderful thing, meeting all of you here, and getting to have some of you come visit.. add yourself to the list, allyson. we'd love to have you..

well, back to the normal grind now...

hope you're all doing well, and that you'll have your butt in the chair rommorrow, chrissy..its good you came last year.. i can do so much LESS this year.. (and we had the energizer bunny visit!!lol 3jays

I'm here 3jays! Been busy with a friend staying over. We've known him for 35 years and his wife passed from the beast about seven years ago. When he gets a bit down he comes and spends the weekend with us. I guess it makes him feel better knowing that we also knew Joan and he's free to talk about her if he wishes.

Lisa I sure hope your trip home is uneventful and safe.

Kathy do glad the wedding is done and dusted and you can finally relax. Don't forget to share some pics please.

Nancy hope you are breathing a little better. Not long now till you see the specialist and hopefully get some answers.

Must be off as its time for a good brew of coffee ....... Lol

    Have a great day all!

    Love n hugs. Chrissy

Morning everyone!  Up early to watch the sunrise over the mountains...my favorite thing to do.  Still very cool here in NC and it's mid June!  This is the reason we come here.

Happy Father's Day to all the DH's and SO's out there!  When my birthday falls on a Sunday, it falls on Father's Day, so I'm yet another year older today, but glad for it!  I'm going to the local grocery and buy myself a big slice of red velvet cake and a pint of Bluebell homemade vanilla ice cream and enjoy every bit of it!  This will be the first dessert I've had in I can't tell you when;)

BF and I celebrated my birthday on Thursday with dinner out and a concert...today he is watching the US Open (naturally) and I'll do whatever I want to do.

    Have a great day everyone!

    Good Morning,

Happy Birthday, Kaara! Hope you enjoy the day.

3jays, hang in there, girl. I'll pm ya back.

Chrissy, happy you are busy and enjoying old friendship.

Kathy, read on a different thread that the wedding went well! Rest up and enjoy the memories.

My pulmonary appt was on Friday. I got a call in for a cancellation appt. My DS drove me up, we had to scramble to get the 6am boat. The dr is a nice older fellow, and he heard what a hard time I have been having, but there is no magic cure. He thinks the protective coverings on my bronchi tubes has been stripped away, not sure why. They are not regenerating. So the air when I breathe rushes over the nerve endings making me cough and wheeze. The good news is my lungs are moving enough air and seem to be in good shape. He has to get a good look at the CT scan and he ran a bunch of blood tests. He prescribed a cough suppressant in a pill form. So that was just added on to the other meds I am taking. I am not happy on all this medication. I don't feel like myself anymore. The new med makes me very tired, so I am just trying to rest and let my body try to heal. He has ordered a nebulizer and will talk to my PCP down here so he can monitor me until I go back to see him in 6 weeks. sigh!

I'm trying to think of something positive and upbeat to say but not coming up with anything.

maca:  So sorry you are having to go through all this.  Hopefully the new med will help, so stay with it if you can.  Could this have happened from the radiation treatments?  You will probably never get any doctor to admit this, but it's a possibility.

Kaara...HAPPY BIRTHDAY...and many more to come. Hope you have a good day.

maca..sorry for your ongoing health probs. You are having it rough at the moment. Hope you can take a little time for yourself in the next few weeks before you see your Dr again.

3jays...I don't believe in fathers day, its a commercial thing, and shouldn't be IMHO...not that I have a father anymore.

DD is busy drumming up her husbands side of the family, she has  a FIL that side, plus her kiddo's for a big family get together to celebrate today, big meal out . I was asked, BUT I am NOT a father, so won't be going !!!!

    Isabella.

good to see you all... chrissy, your mutual friend is lucky that he can visit, and talk about his wife, when he needs to. the reassurance is helpful with old (timewise) friends..

isabella, i agree, its a made up holiday, but if Mur could cheer up his ailing dad (and it did!) then its worth it!!!

im just chillin, reading my new book 1/2 way the\ru, and staying out of sight as much as possible these days..

mac: just get the rest you need, and you'll get used to the meds.. hope hope, and at least, they may restore some of the "breathiness" i know using a nebulizer straightens out many breathing issues for me. i agree w/kaara: rads, perhaps.. which means they may regenerate, just taking their time...

      glad to see everyone back!!!3jays

Happy birthday Kaara, one day late. Hope it was a great day!

Mac, I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time.  I was hoping the pulmonary dr. would have better answers, but it really could be damage from radiation.  If so, perhaps it will come back eventually.  Hope you're getting lots of rest.  Now's a good time to really baby yourself and take it one step at a time.

I don't much like Father's day or Mother's day, but we always celebrate them except for this year.  Just too exhausted after the wedding.  But DS and DDIL came bearing good news yesterday afternoon.  DGS is going to be a big brother in January!  I posted this on the other older thread, so reposting here.

Remember that mammogram I postponed until after the wedding?  It's on Wednesday.  I do dread it as all of us who still have them do, but I'll pull up the big girl panties and do it.  Hoping it's clear this time.

    Hugs to all.

Kathy:  Good luck on that mammogram.  I sweated mine too, but got the all clear...pray for the same for you!  I am going to alternate with thermography so that I don't get so much radiation.

Hi ChrissyB - well done to the Aussie 'GAL!' You are providing a wonderful platform for people to express themselves. I am a new comer to this site (BC 2005, Mets of sacrum 2008) and have been randomly, scrolling through topics - particularly, concentrating on your topic posts. I am amazed that more Aussies do not post, and find this very interesting.
