Today my therapist measured me for a fingertips to axilla Solaris Tribute and looking over the order form I now have another question.  When I spoke to one supplier previously, it was suggested that I also purchase the Outer Jacket.  So my question is.......how many of you with Solaris Tributes also use the Outer Jacket?

I wear a Solaris with an outer jacket to provide a bit more compression.

Sher, I use it for flares, but some people use it all the time. It's a good thing to have.

    Hi, Sher:

I mostly do bandaging at night, but I occasionally use the Solaris Tribute.  I don't usually use the outer garment, although I have it.  I find that it's too much compression and actually makes my arm ache if I use it, so I just leave it off.

They talked me into it at Bandages Plus, and I wish I hadn't bothered, but next time I flare, I'll try them both and see how I do.

You can always add the OJ later.  I use it all the time but I didn't use it for my first year with my Tribute (I didn't know about it.)  I like the increased compression.  I'd say to see how you are without it for while.  If you find you do want increased compression you can order the OJ then; OJ and Tribute do not have to be made at the same time.  You can wrap s/s bandage over your Tribute to increase the compression and see if you like it that way.

Thanks everyone!  I wasn't sure if there were advantages to ordering directly from Solaris instead of a distributor, so I put in a call to Solaris.  When I spoke with Stephanie, I also asked about the Outer Jacket.  She said that the OJ is appropriate when swelling tends to fill or increase quickly after compression garments are removed or if there are also venous complications.  Since neither applies to me, I've decided to pass on the OJ for now, but will keep that as an option that can be added later.

Now I'm down to making the color decision Undecided

Hopefully I'll get this ordered TODAY!
