Does anyone out there get scared and alarmed when you do self breast exams especially on the lumpectomy site which also went through radiation? I'm four years out, get checked every three months but still get alarmed at the texture . Mammograms and MRIS are clear but I still freak out because it feels so strange.

    Bumping for Cellist...

Just thought I'd add... I haven't noticed a big difference in skin texture after rads (I had a mast+DIEP), so I'm not exactly sure what you mean.  But are you using any cream on your skin?  I used both Emu Oil and Coconut Oil a lot to get my skin "rejuvenated" for my Stage II Diep surgery and to try to minimize scarring, and I think they both help.

    Hello dib823

No creams, the skin is fine, the tissue inside is kind of thick and squishy . All my doctors and Mammo say it's normal, so I guess I should maybe just live with it and not freak out every time I do self exam. Thanks for your reply!
