Mom just diagnosed-surgery soon

Hi all, I'm the concerned daughter of someone who was just diagnosed with breast cancer.  I can't even be with her during this time, but am very concerned.  All I know is that it's "aggressive" because it broke through the duct wall, although just barely.  She'll have surgery on Tuesday and I'm sure we'll find out more (as in what stage, etc) then.  I'm really hoping it hasn't spread.  Just really worried.

    is she having a lumpectomy or a mastectomy?

    Either way from what you say it sounds invasive make sure she asks for the onco type test to help figure out treatment

    she's having a lumpectomy from what I know.  I'm so glad she caught it when she did at least, because it's invasive.  hooray for the self-exam!  will mention the onco type test the next time i talk to her, thanks!  it feels good just to be able to reach out to those who understand.
