Has anyone had pain come back in area the invasive lobular carcinoma

was found. The pain that brought my decision to have lumpectomy vs. aspiration!

It's only been 5 1/2 months since my mastectomy! Do I bring this up to my surgeon or am I just being paranoid? I haven't even thought about reoccurance until this  particular pain.

Still in expanding stage!!!  Any thoughts or facts?

MTKS, yes, I have pain in the area of my tumor spot as well.  My mx was in September, 2010 with no reconstruction,  The whole area is sore, I have rib pain and under arm pain in the entire area.  I hope you are doing well!

Definitely talk to your doctor. But if you say you had a mastectomy, that area is definitely gone and you are probably experiencing phantom pain.

mtks - i had ILC and mx (bmx, but other one NED!) and just finished rads today (hooray!). I mentioned to someone at work last week that it felt like my body was trying to grow a new breast (on ILC side) - didn't know how else to describe the uncomfortable (but not necessarily painful) feeling that started 2 weeks ago. Recurrence has crossed my mind too, and it freaks me out. Am afraid my onc will really think I am nuts if I mention this, so hoping I get a PET in the near future just for general follow up and then I can avoid mentioning this (and of course hope and pray that it is nothing.)

I just finished my final fill for my TEs,  and I still have pain in and around my breast, which I think is caused by the TEs.  I can't wait for my exchange, which isn't until May but hopefully the pain will go away.  I think it is important that you keep your surgeon in the loop and updated on the pain you are experiencing.

I am only into my 8th week post BMX, but I still have pain where the tumor was.  I think everything is still sore and my TE's are probably rubbing against it.
