Never had a problem with the bras - like Sherry, guess I got lucky too, My incision was between 3 & 4 o'clock so the bra doesn't get in the way. In fact, when I was healing from surgery and could not use tape, the bra was on way to keep the gauze pads in place.
-
Wore the fancy bra today..wheeha!!! very exciting moment....but have decided that I am going to get the needle and thread out and fix the left cup....it is now a full cup size too big....easy enough to fix though.
Physiotherapist said the swelling and shoulder pain is due to a very tight muscle which runs across the chest, over the shoulders and across the back. I have some work to do to loosen it all up but I am motivated!
Granny - I have a sports bra I love too. An old Warners bra..they no longer make them but I am always on the look out fo rhtem and have checked the various sites you ladies have posted these last few months.
-
today i finally put on the genie bra....im such a strange shape now that nothing really fits me perfect.i am soooo full under the arm even in the compression bra that i paid $72.00.
went lookin for the tank top bras yesterday....no luck at all.i swear ill be searchin for bras forever.i cannot wear anything with a seam because the area under the arm still hurts and i do still have slight edema...its ok because i love new bras!!!!!!!
hope everyone is doin well....had to shut the fan off 2 nites in a row because it was chilly.damn in NJ my AC is never off
huggggggggggggs to all my sistas.K
-

I am also inside but am cleaning my house - need to find a housekeeper real soon - this totally sucks.
-
Granny- At Walmart in Canada, I found a camisole with support...a lycra type thing...$14.00...black and beige...came up high enough under the arm, gave me enough support. I bought a 38, even though I am a 36, to accomodate the cup size.A bit hot on the summer muggy days but I have worn it as a straight camilsole too with a shit partially buttoned over it...very comfortable

I finished radiation a week ago friday and have been having an ordeal with blistering and open burn wounds. I have been on round the clock pain killers starting a week ago friday but yesterday I didn't have to take them round the clock (only took 3). I put the silver ointment on the open wounds and a nurse at Sloan taught me how to dress it properly. I did not expect the severity that I've been experiencing. But it seems like it is turning the corner to healing. I go for a skin check this morning.
-
Good morning everyone! I have to say that today is 2 weeks post radiation, and my breast feels and looks sooooooooooo much better than when i was doing rads. it has peeled some, but isn't sore like it was during rads, i actually can lay on that side now, when during rads there was NO WAy i could do that. I definitely feel alot better now than i did.
Started Tamox yesterday. woke up with a terrible headache this morning, but it is so humid out that it may have to do with that instead of the tamox. i am determined to breeze through tamox since surgery and rads weren't a "breeze" as some people said they would be!!!
YEA for everyone joining this thread. Just not having to go to rads everyday for me has been so freeing!!! I think it just weighed on me mentally so much!!
-
Welcome Spartina and ftblmom3. Glad you guys made it through rads and can now join us here in the after rads. I had a difficult time with rads but found once I finished I healed pretty quickly. I also sleep alot which there are theories that sleep helps with healing. I have to say I think I agree. This is a fun group here so feel free to ask questions.
-
Welcome Spartina & ftblmom3 - So glad you two made it through rads and can join us here. Rads were not a breeze for me either. About halfway through I so wanted to stop going - my RO was such a moron and it was getting to be too stressful - but I stayed and got it done. This is a fun bunch of ladies that have lots of good information. Feel free to share your experiences and ask questions anytime you need to.
-
i can officially join you all now! finished today, the clinic staff were wonderful and skin wise , i think i got off very lightly compared to some of you, redness and have been peeling since the boost begun but no open areas , i have been able to sleep on that side right from the start
-
juliet - Welcome and doing the happy dance with you. Congrats on finishing rads.
-

Just stopping by to check with everyone...hoping and praying that you all are doing well and enjoying your summer..
It has been miserably HOT here lately, but I'm doing my best to get in my morning walks and keep busy....
Praying for you all my sisters,

Hey ladies......................after hearing what I just heard on the 11 o"clock news, my radiation that I just finished sounds like a Walk in the Park.........................a woman (can't remember where she was from)..................cut off her husband's penis, and threw it down the garbage disposal.........................ouch ..........................they were going through a divorce.............good Lord wouldn't alimony have been a little more considerate......................on that note, I'm going to bed........................have a wonderful night ladies.
-
OMG Ducky...I googled that...she's from Los Angeles...she said he "deserved it"...she's being held for reckless mayhem and may get life imprisonment for it...Yikes!!! Yup, I agree...rads WERE a walk in the park compared to that!!!
-
He must of been doing something with that penis that she did not like! Yikes
-
Or he just pissed her off so bad she wanted revenge??? I would not want to make her mad - Yikes!
-
He won't be "pissing off" anything or anyone else again.... ok, that was bad... Bad Kimala!!
-

Granny, I am using Original Sprouts shampooo and other products. All natural, so does not foam a lot like bad products, but my hair is very soft and feels really nice. www.originalsprout.com I ordered over the 1-888-805-2229. They are very nice. I am still looking for a hair spray, but the Tresseme that I have is not that bad on the www.ewg.org site.Let me know if you find a really good hair spray.
-
Stage1---im suing natures garden(i think) whatever it is i like it...its the hairspray im lookin for too.just wondering if they make an all natural one....i keep tryin different ones but i know that all of them are really no good.AND i cannot live without hairspray!!!!!!!!!when i go home i have a wellness center where i live....this man can get me anything if its available....will let all the sistas know if i find it....this natural stuff is triple the price of regular hair products but its worth it....
bc the gift that keeps on giving.damn.it suks!!!!!!!!!!
-
Granny- you are welcome!
Ducky- reckless mayhem?? WTH is that? good gravy..sounds like more than reckless...oops sorry..the knife slipped? how does that happen?
I buy most of my prodcts in the organic aisle in the grocery store...bit more expensive but it is worth it...watch the paba in the sunscreen too. Beaver has a good line of sun products
-
Spartina - I so know how you feel but my RO told me no dressing on it.. just use the x-clair and air it out when I can - i have a patch of raw skin where the blistered peeled now and really don't know what to do.... I call the nurse and tell her and she says, "its normal" I am leaving for Portland to see the grandkids in the morning (3.5 hour drive) my son only gets my granddaughter 3 weeks out of the year - this is the ONLY time I get to see her... what horrible timing... I sure hope nothing bad happens while I'm gone...
