Has anyone had nipple reconstruction done in doctor's office instead of grafting?

I have one scheduled in May and wondering how bad the incisions will look on my breasts.

I would love to hear from any ladies who already had this done.  Thank you.

I had a graft done in surgical suite in doctor's office with alloderm to support the nipple.

Looks great. Terrific way to hide the mastectomy scars.

Still have nipple projection 4 years post-surgical proceedure.

It was not a difficult healing process. Eileen

So, did you have the skin from the inner thigh to do this procedure?

I have an idea how my PS will cut the breast skin, most likely like a clover shape but not sure how many clover shaped leaves he will need to cut to make a nipple.

    Thank you for sharing..

Skin was taken from the crease between the leg and abdominal area.

No discomfort--Did not take any meds. It made sense to me. Line is almost invisible.

This way--plenty of skin for the surgeon to use. Alloderm was placed in the nipple area.

The areola did not require any tattoo. Slight tattoo to darken the nipple area.

She was considering using ear cartilage--but decided on alloderm.

I trusted the surgeon, and projection is good..

She used a thick graft over the entire areola and nipple site. As stated before, this hides defects from the implant and scar area. Eileen.

Check out my educational web site all about nipple reconstruction. I took photos of my friend's procedure, which was the skin-flap procedure you describe. You can view the step-by-step process, all of which was done in his office. Check it out: TattooedNipples.com

Is your doctor still practicing. I am having a hard time finding a doctor near me who does the procedure as you described. I am in Connecticut, but willing to travel to New York or Boston.

Thank you for any information you can provide.
