Does "Family History" include...?

I'm 32 and had breast cancer last year.  My mom hasn't had a mammogram in about 4 years, and is reluctant to get one, and I'm concerned.  Does ME having had breast cancer put her at increased risk??  Usually it's the other way around - a daughter is at risk of BC because her mother had it.  Does it work in the reverse way?  Does having a daughter who had BC mean you have a "family history" of it?

Yes.  A daughter is a 1st degree relative.  At my genetics 'screening' (I was not tested), they wanted to know about any (breast, etc) cancer in my sons/daughters, and my neices and nephews.

Few genes are '100% penetrant', meaning 100% of the people with a faulty gene get the condition.  Normally there are some people who have a faulty gene but are normal.  If I remember right, with some BRCA mutations, about 95% of those with the mutation end up getting breast cancer some time in their lifetime.  But about 5% do not.   In other words, some people with a faulty mutation do NOT get breast cancer.  So it is possible that, if your breast cancer is from a deleterious mutation, it came from your mother, even if she does not have breast cancer.*IF* your breast cancer is from a deleterious mutation, then it may have come from your father or your mother.  (Only about 10-15% of breast cancers are thought to be from deleterious mutations.)
