Any triple negativers try Cisplatin? How did that go?

Nannababy - I had Carboplatin with my Taxol, and it is a similar drug to Cisplatin. I showed an excellent response to the combo, but I couldn't be sure which drug was the effective one. The platins have shown promising results overall for TN.

If I need chemo after surgery, I'm pretty sure this will be one of the choices my onc would make.

    Good luck!

I've had an excellent response to Gemcitibine, Cisplatin and Avastin. In Dec I was diagnosed with mets to liver and bones and locally. I started second round with this chemo combo right away. My PET scan last week showed NO signs of cancer anywhere!

I've been on cisplatin monthly since August, 2009.  Tumors in lungs are smaller with each scan.

Good to hear KSKIER! Keep kickin butt!

I have nothing to see if the chemo will be working... We are just hoping that if I do more chemo, I won't have a recurrence... local or distant...

NannaBaby - I'm jumping into this boat, sigh.

I had residual cancer in my breast and in my lymph nodes, so my doctor agreed that we would do another round of chemo.  She said it would likely be Cisplatinum paired with something else, she is consulting on it now.

I'll have a PET scan before we begin to re-stage me - hoping it is clear!  I'll be starting April 1st.
