Ask your doc if you can begin at least walking 1/2 hour a day.  I know that doesn't sound like much after your prior routine, but I would think that's a great way to begin, gradually increasing distance/time until you can start running again.  Or ask for a prescription to see a physical therapist who specializes in this area.  Probably heavy weights are a "no no" for a while yet, but should be other post-surgery exercises that would be OK.   Once you can start an exercise program, I'm sure you'll bounce back fast!

I found walking on the treadmill for 1/2 hour and using 1 lb. dumbells 3 to 4 weeks after the mx and Diep seemed a good beginning. It's been 2 1/2 months and now I can use 3 lbs. weights and still use the treadmill everyday for 1/2 to 3/4 hours. I am able to use my stomach muscles minimally but I do what feels comfortable. My PS said do what I want unless it hurts. My body won't let me overdo it anyway. I'm not sure if you had the Diep but I find stretching gradually through the stomach is the best workout along with walking and light weights. I think it's going to be a slow process for me but I don't care as long as I can make progess gradually. I imagine it will be the same for you. Listen to your body. If your like me you won't be able to overdo it as it will hurt.
