Absolutely, I think any recurrence of IBC should have a second opinion either by Dr. Christofanelli or at MD Anderson IBC clinic.  It is worth every effort.

Dr. Cristofanelli is THE world's expert in IBC.  He established the IBC clinic at MD Anderson before going to Fox Chase.  There is literally no better person in the world better able to diagnose and treat this disease. On a side note, he is also up for the ASCO Humanitarian of the Year.

    Sincerely,

    Sean E.

MD Anderson wouldn't take me when first diagnosed.  But if I were to have a reccurance, I would be headed there & I wouldn't take no for an answer this time. NJ

To marium -- on the advise of all the people in this forum, I have arranged for my mom to see Dr. C next week.  The process was not that difficult -- they take your basic information via phone, then give you a list of things they need.  I only had to reach out to 4 people for the info and they can fax or mail some of it -- to her breast surgeon and oncologist (who both faxed info), to the hospital lab that had her pathology slides (and they overnight mailed them), and to the mammo/ultrasound/MRI center (they prepared a CD which my mom picked up).  It sounds overwhelming at first, but the people at FC so far have been amazing and so helpful.  I am thrilled to be able to take my mom there for a second opinion and think it would be beneficial for you and your mom if you can.
