Tamoxofin and insomnia

Hello,

I just started to take the tamoxofin drug and have noticed my sleep pattern is totally out of whack. I need a sleeping aid and even that doesn't do the trick. I wake up constantly and cannot get back to sleep. I am going to make an appt. with my Dr. today but was wondering how common insomnia is as a side effect.

I think it happens in the beginning, while your body is adjusting to the dose.

 When do you take it? I have heard that it affects sleep less to take it in the am, or to split the pill and take 1/2 in the am and 1/2 in the pm.

I take on 20mg pill in the mornings, I use  to take it at night as my onco recommended to avoid hot flashes. I do not get hot flashes to I changed it to a.m. due to the insomnia. All and all I consider myself pretty lucky as I have almost no SE ( except the sleep issue ) so far. I have read that some women have a hard time with the drug.
