My Hips Hurt.

I returned to the gym this week.  It's been awhile.  In 2008, I got pregnant, and it was a hard time, I was sick all the time, and due to arthritis, it was painful to be really active, so I cut back.  Then, when baby was 8 months old, I found out I had BC, so treatments set me back another notch.  Imagine my surprise, when I returned to the Y this week, and could not go past 3.5  on the treadmill!!!  Down from my pre preggo, cancer starting speed of 4.0!!!!!  I am in TERRIBLE shape!!!! I swung my arm like a pendulum the whole time, and 35 minutes later, dripping in sweat and heart pumping out of my chest, felt like I had a real workout.  I done this again the next day. Day 3, my hips and pelvis hurt alot.  So I took it easy, and went to the mall instead, and pushed daughter around in stroller.  Yesterday I went to the gym, and worked REALLY hard, 1 hour on the treadmill, the first 20, I walked 3.5 with my arms swinging like pendulums, and then I alternated different speeds and inclines, up to 15.0, where I had to hold on to the treadmill.   Today, my legs and pelvis/hips are screaming for mercy!!!!!! Am I overdoing it???  Do you know the first thing that I think of, is "Oh great, I'm probably full of bone mets!" There is a "something" in my pelvis, that my onc thinks is mets, but it's too small to biopsy, and they are just going to continue to monitor it.  I am also following Weight watchers.  I feel like I should exercise everyday, and feel "guilty" if I don't exercise.  I wonder if I should eat more points when I exercise, and the whole thing is just mentally exhausting!  Anyways, thanks for letting me vent...my healthy friends just don't get it.

 Cheers!

Hey Kellie. Your post caught my eye because I routinely have hip pain and was told that hip pain usually originates in the lower back.  I had an MRI of the entire area and it turned out that I had a slight bulging disc in my lower spine which put pressure on a nerve that serves the hip.  Childbirth and hitching your baby up on your hip so that your lower back is out of whack could also be making your hip ache. -Kelly  p.s. good for you for actually working out!
