Looking for a new oncologist Toronto area
Hello lovely ladies,
well, I concluded today time to find a new oncologist. Mine is Dr. Dhesy at Juravinski and I don't think she has my treatment in her best interest.
I cannot get answers about zometa, lupron etc. My appointment this morning at 9:30 was cancelled. After I drove there 40 min. each way with gas at $1.15 a litre I am a bit pissy!
Now I cannot see her until March 3.
I want a new oncologist! Can anyone in the Toronto area recommend one that they feel most confident about?
Also, I don't know how to do this...do I ask my family doctor for a referral?
Thanks!
Christine

Hello my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, i am finally on this site. it is truly incredible. thank you for making me try it.
regarding my abovementioned posting, If Dr Seuss is all booked up, try Dr Warr at PMH. very good.
I was told by a very good source ( very knowledgeable) that Dr Kathleen Pritchard at Sunnybrook is one of THE best.
and Dr Easson at PMH although I think she is surgical onco not medical onco .
will get back to you with more by PM
AND BTW, YES, absolutely. if an onco cancels your appt without even telling you ahead of time, you can just imagine how much importance she attached to your case. you HAVE to be a prioirty at all times. their job is to serve you.
I had to delete my original post cause this is what it said:

Kat! You're such a kook, I will not try green eggs and ham! heheee
I s'pose if you left up the Dr. Seuss post, someone might have reported you, but it was darn funny!
Glad you made it to bc.org Thanks for those recommendations. I've heard of Dr.Warr, I'll see what I can do, I have another good recommendaton from a stage 3 sistah. Just trying to get an in at the moment.
Love you!

Let-it-Be - I go to Credit Valley Hospital in nearby Mississauga and my Oncologist is great. His name is Dr. Jeffrey Myers. His father Robert is also a breast oncologist at CVH. There are a number of oncs who specialize in breast and I've heard good things about all of them. One is a woman named Dr. Rajagopal who a friend goes to. I'm glad I was able to get such good care close to home and have no complaints whatsoever. In addtion to surgery and chemo, I also did rads at CVH.
