For all the "Swell Sisters" who have to fight so hard not to get BP cuffs squeezing our LE arm(s)

I saw this news report http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/02/110220193022.htm about a new gadget to measure BP without the usual cuff and without using your legs, Apparently it goes around one wrist and the sensor is on the underside like the back of a watch. It pikcs up information from your pulse wave on the radial artery.

The developments have come from Leicester Uni in the UK and their page about it is here: http://www2.le.ac.uk/news/blog/2011-archive/february/blood-pressure Says its noninvasive nad was developed in Singapore a few years ago. (I don't know why Leicester are now getting the credit but ??) It seems that they still need to use a cuff at some point to get the correlation facotr

I don't quite understand how it does this, but sounds like it could be worth knowing more about. Im going to try and email their webmaster and get him to forward a query.
