shingles--not the roof kind

Anybody had experience with shingles? I have them on the bottom of my left foot which is covered with small blisters and has shooting pains going through the nerve endings. Such a weird place to get them. My PCP says don't walk on my foot for 5 days. I didn't realize until now how great my feeling in my foot is--I thought they were half dead with neuropathy from taxotere, but my left foot is feeling the pain just great. BC treatment just keeps on giving in new surprising ways.

Does anybody know of anything that works? I have heard if you are a bc survivors you shouldn't get the herpes zoster (shingles) vaccine.
