1st year cancer free date?

i am confused as to when officially i will be 1 year cancer free?  is it the date of my mascetomy or is it the date of my last chemo treatment???

My oncologist uses the date of the last chemo treatment.

My oncologist uses that date of my last chemo treatment too. I use the day I found the cancer.

I celebrate on the day of my dx and the day of the end of my treatment!!!!

I am going to celebrate the day of my DX and the date I finished chemo and rads.  Any excuse to celebrate works for me!  LOL  I didn't officially call myself a survivor until the date I finished treatment.

Well, if the rads was just as an insurance from recurrence, then i hope i have been cancer-free from my date of surgery. I guess last treatment day is when they celebrate seeing the back of me!

I plan to use my lumpectomy date.  Until then, I most definitely was not cancer free.

Since I had Chemo first ...then surgery..then radiation.   I am using my Surgery date....Jan 28th...Yeah! One year out!

I use the date of my BMX surgery. I figure that is when the cancer was taken out and also because I didn't have to do chemo.

I will use my Lumpectomy/Total Axillary node dissection for my anniversary date since no more tumors could be found and my margins were clear.

Sure hopes it stays that way...

I also use the day of surgery.  after that i believe i was cancer free and still am.  going on 10 yrs this november.  cant believe it!
