Evista anyone?

Options

I was taking Tamoxifen for 6 months until I started having issues with my memory, so much that it was affecting my ability to work. The oncologist took me off them for 30 days to see if the memory problems went away, and they did. He has now prescribed Evista. I have not started it since my prescription was filled by mail order and is on its' way to me. Other than costing a whole lot more (and I believe that is because it doesn't have a generic), has anyone here had any experience with Evista? If so, can you share your experiences and side effects?

reneemac, you will probably get some replies if you post your question on the "Hormonal Therapy" forum.  Most of us who are on some sort of estrogen-blocking therapy hang out there.  I know Evista has been discussed on that forum.

You might even try searching the Boards for previous discussions on the subject.  (The "Search" function is in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.  Just type "Evista" in the keyword box.)

I haven't taken Evista -- I'm on Arimidex -- so I can't answer your main question about side effects. But, yes, Evista is still protected by a patent; so it isn't available as a generic yet (as tamoxifen is).
