The author of the New York Times article about the new study about surgery answered a few questions on-line:

What I like about this is that at the end she states that even with just the SNB, women can develop LE.  Someone else pointed out that one nice thing about this study and the coverage is acknowledgment of the seriousness of LE.  It seems they're all getting it right.

MOTC, I couldn't get the link to work--I think this one may work better.

I agree with you on the fact that they did this to minimize LE--and even mentioned axillary web in the JAMA article--so it's a serious issue, and motivated the researchers to propose controversial research  that challenged entrenched assumpts and will likely result a seismic change in how breast cancer is approached--so radical that major centers refused to participate in the study.

I agree as well! The number! Dear god they have finally ackowledged the higher numbers of incidence! And as always I am certain even these numbers are conservative. But I'll take it! Any increase in recognizing LE is gargantuos !

I just visited the radiation forum. Had to get out of there! So many women just wakening up to symptoms and asking questions. I just want to cry.
