Ok well here is the short version of diagnosis until now:

Diagnosed Sept 2010, Lumpectomy (27mm tumor) and sentinal node biopsy 27th sept.

Full Axillary Clearance (precaution as sentinal nodes were negative) they found 1 positive node.

I was told I am stage IIB with TN invasive ductal carcinoma. All bone scans, CT and MRI clear.

I started TAC chemotherapy December 2nd (I was meant to have 6 cycles, 1 every 3 weeks)

After second cycle I found a small lump. The same day as my third cycle I had a ultrasound which showed 2 suspicious masses both 5mm in diameter. I had the core biopsy and they both came back positive for carcinoma.

I am scheduled for a bilateral masectomy, and they have postponed chemo until I recover. I also have yet to find out if they will do rad's and chemo at the same time after I have a few weeks to heal.

Has ANYONE had this and survived? I am so so so scared now it has reoccured. So far there is no metastisis but I am booked in for follow up scans just to check to be safe even though my last scans were only 3 months ago.

I need some idea of what will happen now. Is there a possibility of me being ok? I am only 25 and have a 3 year old and a 1 year old......I have to make it through this.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Have any good chemo regimes worked for anyone?

So sorry you're going through this.  I`m afraid I don't have any helpful advice, but I do know a local recurrence can be treated successfully, so yes, please try and stay positive. I hope your onc can give you some good information.  I

    25. Deep sigh. Sorry girl. So unfair. My little sister got it when she was 29. (TN) She's 43 now.

I had a local recurrance. I am TN and BRCA 1+. In 5 days, it will be 4 years since my dx. My last scan showed no evidence of disease. (NED)

It all sucks. But, you hang in there. Focus on your kids, not the cancer. I know that easier said than done, but unfortunetely with cancer, it is what it is. Do what you have to do. The fear does get easier to handle. I promise.

Hello Pink:  I am sorry this is happening to you...i am not your doctor, but I know many people who have had a local recurrence and have lived...i would suggest you get a second opinion..No matter what your doctors suggest.  you need all the advise you can get.  make sure they specialize in TN...and make sure you find out if this recurrence is TN..It may not be.  Mine changed with the local recurrence...I know how you feel..take someone with you to your appointments, it helps for two of you to absorb what is being said...keep us posted..And again, yes, many women live after they have had a local recurrence...

I too was DX IIB TN IDC. I was 34 at DX Sept. 09. I had a BMX. TC & 40 rads  I am cancer free. You can do this! I promise. Think of it like this, being pregnant is HARD, childbirth is HARD, parenting is HARD, Cancer Treatment is HARD. But you have to do all these things, there is no other option. You will get through this and be able to smile when it's over. Hang in there.
