Anyone Had a Preventative Mastectomy

Hi, I have not actually been diagnosed with cancer however I am at an increased risk and have been taking Tamoxifen for over a year. I have recently had my 2nd lumpectomy and have been advised by my surgeon that a double mastectomy is the next step in preventing cancer because the Tamoxifen is not decreasing the Papillamatosis. My sister was diagnosed in Feb 2009 and has since had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Has anyone had a preventative mastectomy?
