So...whats for dinner?

Eric I hope you don't need a new car. My husband has his favorite car too. It's a 98 Concord with about 300, 000 miles. No one else can drive. Um let me put it another way no one else could or should drive it! It's an engineering thing.... LOL
Bedo wow that's a lot of burritos! Hope you have a lot of help eating them!!!! LOL
Nancy that's a lot of bread do you always do 3 loaves?
Lacey chicken pastina soup sounds so WARM! LOL
I had a Bowl of chili. Almost done with the last of the frozen containers.
Much love.

Moon - I'm so envious that you're towards the end of the freezer stuff. I have at least another month to go to see the shelves & sides of the stand up freezer in my garage. It's not frost free so I hope to defrost it sometime before it gets too hot.
Leftover pork ribs tonight. Appetizer was leftover sushi - California Roll. Leftover spaghetti tomorrow. Or wait - I'm going out to lunch - Mexican food - so the spaghetti may be Wednesday. Or wait - Herceptin infusion Wednesday so I'll probably eat out at the med center. Good thing the flavors will just get better in the spaghetti.
-
Tonight was hospital cafeteria food.
My.mother in law tripped and fell. She broke her left arm just below her shoulder...she is left handed. She also "did something" to one knee. An orthopedic doc is coming to the hospital tomorrow to look at it.

Prayers for your DMIL, eric! Oh my. Tell Sharon you are all in our prayers.
-
Oh no Eric, that's terrible. Sending well wishes her way!
Monica, no I don't usually make three loaves but I was making whole wheat and didn't like the character of the dough of the first loaf (due to some additions I made), so to be safe I made another with fewer modifications. As it turns out, they both came out perfect so one will go in the freezer and the other will be for sandwiches. The third loaf was a new rye recipe using sauerkraut and dill pickle juice of all things. It's very good and lighter than my standby rye but I'm not sure I'll make it with the kraut again. It tends to get in your teeth, which I find a bit unpleasant. I'll split this loaf with a friend who loves rye as much as I do.

You are all funny, I didn't make 1,000, it just felt like that
Eric, I hope that your MIL is OK
Am waiting for the halibut run
-
Bedo 400...1000...10 whos counting? Lots of work no matter the number. Funny how your temps there in Alaska are much better than ours here in NY. Getting a funny visual of Halibuts running...ha ha
Eric So sorry for your MIL,does she live alone? will you bring her to your home while she recoups? Love the car story....DH took our old jalopy in for a wheel bearing fix. My old car, that he insists on keeping around and drives off and on. We are a 2 person household with 5 vehicles.
Nance So glad you are feeling better.
Did a quick stove top chicken cordon bleu, just layered in the pan, chicken, ham and cheese and a garlic sauce. Side of quinoa mix (Aztec blend) with added green peas.
-
Carberry, we are 3 people for 6 or 7 cars...depending if I keep the Isuzu as I acquire the Volvo.
Bedo, I believed the thousand...that you were on a roll and just kept the assembly line going...and I figured the 40 or 50 temps were either measured in Kelvin (measured from absolute 0) or was in the heated refrigerated spaces! :-)
Nancy..glad you're getting back to normal. I've had vertigo a few times, but it was in college and had obvious (self inflicted) causes....
MIL lives alone, so I'm not sure what we are going to arrange...Sharon teaches and signed a contract to teach until the end of the year and by then MIL should be better. I work 90 minutes away so that doesn't help....sigh...
-
Haha Carrie, now I have the vision too!
-
Bedo - I thought wow you must have some freezer space there. What kind of running shoes do halibut wear?
Eric - prayers for healing for Sharon's mother. Gesh, didn't realize your commute was 90 minutes. Knew it was long. Hospital social worker might need to get involved for home arrangements.
Nancy - glad the vertigo is improved. I have an attack not extreme every once in a while, had for years. Think it's inner ear. Yum - rye bread with pickle juice.
I have to make a loaf of bread today for me. Like I said a bit back I have 3 - yes 3 - pkgs of no knead bread mix plus a couple of ones needing kneaded. DH eats yucky white bread that I find good only if stomach is queasy and maybe grilled cheese sandwiches. Whole wheat bread has not been on sale recently and I'm not much for frozen bread esp. commercially made. But I did find a few pieces of bakery bread in there yest. that I ate - not bad toasted. I intended to go to bread store - day old - on Sat. but we did not go that way.
We had boneless thighs shake 'n bake the new pretzel one - OK but not outstanding. I put some sprinkles of the Szeged chicken rub and need to bake some with just it. I found reviews on Amazon of it - it does smell great. Also some frozen broccoli. Leftovers tonight.
Carrie - can you describe in more detail how you made your skillet chicken. Sounds yummy. Some weeks I think we're going to cluck around here.
-
I'm glad there are some more families with more cars than drivers! I thought we were the only nutty ones! We have four cars and two drivers - when DD is home it is four cars, one truck and a boat for three people!
eric - sorry about your MIL - it is complicated to take care of them when they are not as near.
-
At my last driver license physical, my blood pressure and cholesterol were mildly elevated...and the doctor sent me to a cardiologist for more evaluation. The echocardiogram is normal. What was not normal my extremely high capacity for exercise, which sounds good to me. The doctor said I wasn't kidding when I said I ran a lot.
-

Just me peeking in.
-
I like the whiskers...
Eric
-
Hi Deb!
I think that Halibut wear magic shoes that we can't see,
But I am sure that they wear some kind of sneaker that allows them to run upon the water.
-
LOL. ....

-
Nance- Glad to hear your vertigo is under control, I know people that have bad cases of it, and it keeps them down for days sometimes. Yum on the bread. Been also watching the st louis weather, stay safe! And Warm!
Eric- Sorry about your MIL that has to be hard especially since she is left handed.
Bedo- Oh my gosh you are so funny, I was thinking 1000 burrittos, I started picturing you making them and where you were trying to find the room to put them, like did you have a big enough freezer, my mind was going all over the place on that one!! lol! I also thought about the halibut run like CARRIE did too, what's next the Lobster dance hehe!
Hope laurie is doing ok, I saw on FB that the kids flu caught up with her too. (hugs) Hope you feel better laurie
Deb- I peek in every once in a while to, good to see you do as well.
Wow you with all your cars,we have two, but my DH tire is flat on his jeep so he drives my car that I love, a crysler300 (with hemi) Fast!! Not that I drive it fast but I can if I need to lol one of my good friends have about 30 cars, a lot of them are classic cars.
Minus- I agree speggitti is so much better after a few days, do you get to eat it today finally? ha!
Carole must be having a nice time on her trip, looks like she hasn't checked in yet.
I got another round of pnemonia a little over a week ago, so have not been able to go to my lung rehab classes but yesterday I finally got to see my lung specialist up in Portland, my orignial app had to be canceled. They had me do a lung function test and walk test, blood test, exrays etc.. was there from 11;am until almost 5 pm long day! Basically they told me that I was end stage at my emphysema, he did not give me a time frame but let me know it was not good. ( I already knew that) did talk to me about weather I wanted to go naturally or with guns a blazing. At that point my DH started crying and I told him I was going to be oK, and told dr I was not ready to talk about that yet. Not sure what the guns a blazing means and when do I know is the right time, I guess My lungs will tell me that. But then is there time to to anything about it by then... Well lots of questions I should of asked but you don't think of those things in that moment. He did say I could call him anytime if I had any questions. One thing he did say was when I asked how long, he said there is no way to know, which we all know that with any kind of late stage illness's like cancer etc. basically for me because you just never know when the lungs won't let in air in or out. blowing it out is my problem most of the time. Just knowing what the other dr have told me and how bad I feel I knew it was going to be that kind of talk, but it is still hard, but Iam dealing with it. My brother and SIL drove the over six hours to see me there, they were also visiting there grand-son who lives there too but he asked me what the dr said, I told him basically what I already knew that it was severe but did not tell him everything, in fact Chuck is the only one who knows I don't even know how to tell any one, I will just not ready to yet. I wanted to tell you all because I do need to talk to some one and you all get it. and besides we are family here too, the hard part is telling my brother since we both are the only ones left, and after losing a sister and dad so close I hate for him to go through this again, I just hope I have a lot more time left. I guess we all do don't we?
Sorry to make such a long post and yet another depressing one. Hope every one is safe from the ice, snow storms love to all.
-

Debbie: Oh my what a jolt. I am so sorry to hear the hard words about your lungs. We are honored that you feel you can share with us as family. Damn girl, I want to get on a plane this very minute and come give you a hug, but sending a virtual hug tonight at least. You have time to make the list of questions you want to ask the docs when you're ready. It's so much to take in all at once. Bless you. Let us know whatever we can do. You'll be in all of our thoughts & prayers.

Please know that I am sending you both strength and good thoughts, and yes, we are a family here. I wish we were able to offer you more than hugs across the miles.

I can understand why your husband cried.
