I continue to run my company www.pure-ecommerce.com and have since started as a result of my breast cancer diagnosis while pregnant the Kilians Kids Foundation which is www.kilianskids.com named after my son Kilian who was born perfectly healthy despite being in my belly during the chemo I had to endure while pregnant.

Since my last post I have been on another cruise, am training for a 2nd marathon, have lost 10lbs, my body fat percentage is now in the "fitness" percentage, I have taken a minute or more off my minute/mile and am running 20-25 miles a week on average.

I work full time, run 3 exercise groups for survivors, have one daughter in college, one at home, a wonderful husband, and am starting my own business on the side.  I am loving blogging and am doing some freelance work for a publisher and hope to write my own book.  And just this past week I was approached by the director of ACS HopeClub about a grant for cancer recurrence reduction and exercise.

I have a great life and the best part is I am aware that my life is great! I don't waste a minute.

Wow, you gals ROCK! I have started walking regularly, will start to run, but how did some of you run during chemo? Eating much better, lost 20 pounds, with much more to go.

I loved reading this!!!! Very inspiring.  I started taking piano lessons, which is something I've always wanted to do. Although I'm just recently diagnosed, I plan to continue and am scheduled to do my grade one RCM exam in August.

    DCMom,

Great thread!  Honestly, when I first saw it, I was thinking that I didn't have anything to contribute.  How funny is that considering that, as a salesperson for  a large company, I was awarded for being in the top 20% of salespeople nationwide for 2010?  Isn't it funny that I didn't immediately think of such a big accomplishment?

I've always made working out a big priority, but I've never been much of a healthy eater, so I've made huge strides there in the years after my diagnosis.  It's never too late to get healthy.  I feel good, I take care of myself and I do a great job as a caregiver.

I think this thread is very important for the newly diagnosed.  Here is your evidence that life can go on and be joyous despite the obstacles.

    Hugs to All,

    Bobbie

I am sitting here, not wanting to move after that Yakima Canyon Ride I did earlier today.  Was a blast and the most glorious day.

This was following a 50+ mile ride I did in the Tri-Cities yesterday.  So I am one sore puppy as about 100 miles of cycling since Friday.

I needed a new adventure which is why I did this...solo.  Plus, got there via a different route over the Cascades - White Pass.  Stopped and saw a still-frozen lake with an otter playing in it.

Everyminute is onto something......not one moment to waste.

Next time though, will visit wineries on Day 1.  I drank BEER and I was in some of the most fantabulous wine country on the planet. - Claire

    Cool thread.

I've had 2 ebooks published since my diagnosis.  Managed to even work on my first one a little during chemo.  :)  I've since taken a hiatus from writing, due to gastroparesis, though, but plan to get back into it.

I ran a 5k today in 25:44 - 2 plus mins faster than my prior fastest time and 4 mins faster than my pre chemo best time.

3.1 miles at an average 8:18 pace.  I was 5th overall finisher in this race and 4th woman - yay me!

I am now a "competitve runner" (but not an elite).
