Hi ladies I haven't been on this site in a while.i have a question on tamoxifen. I was on tamoxifen for 6 to 7 weeks and had to come off do to blooding for 3 weeks. Went to my Gyn and she gave me a endometrial biopsy and an ultrasound and an internal ultrasound all came back fine and normal. Then had my cycle again for 2 weeks then I was low on iron so I was taking iron pills for a few days. My MO wanted to wait for me to go on anything until I got normal with my Cycles. So I've have two more and they are back to normal so I seen my MO today and he want me to go back on tamoxifen. Has any one had this problem with tamoxifen and if so what did you do. My Gyn said if I go back on tamoxifen and it does it again they can give me a D&C but I just wanted to jump on this site see if anybody had the same problem as me and what did you do? Im Er 30% and Pr 15%. Thank you and God bless

Hi SpecialK, so glad you and your family are safe and everything is ok with the house. It must have been pretty rough, I red on CNN that 911 was not allowed to take calls and frustrated paramedics had to stay inside complaining about not being able to do their job. Take care of yourselves and your house. Cherry

PoseyGirl, are you sure this is not Impetigo? My youngest had it a couple of times, always started as a small mouth sore in the corner of her mouth and then got bigger and became a sore around it as well that dried and then got moist again. We went to see our GP and she prescribed some antiseptic ointment we used and it went away. Please stop using Vaseline, back in university a friend of my I wrote an MBA with did a research in cosmetic chemicals for her Bachelor degree, that time I was always using Vaseline for my lips. She told me to stop doing it at once for the different reasons, I do not remember exactly it was for over 15 years ago, but some of them were pretty concerning. In Sweden we have this Swiss ointment called Bepanthen, I was first recommended it by my maternity nurse for any red sorrow spots my baby could have. It worked so well that the whole family is using it right now, I am sure it is available online. As the matter of fact, one of my youngest school friends who always had so cracked lips and her mom complained about how they tried everything, I suggested this ointment and her lips healed. She is actually running to me every time she sees me in school to show how good they have become. In case you want to try make sure you take the one called Bepanthen Salva. Cherry

Could your MO prescribe something other than Tamoxifen? Wouldn't that be easier than a D&C?

HI coachvicky thank you for responding. He said there really isn't anything else out there for women that are not going through menopause he was talking about putting me in menopause with a pill that they inject into my stomach monthly and then put me on AI medicine. My gynecologist told me if he's going to medically Put Me In The Middle's I might as well just remove my ovaries.
-
Robin1234
I better understand. I am probably a lot older. My GYN took everything in a robotic hysterectomy. I was pretty sure that I was not in line for a miracle baby at my age. LOL
I thought I would feel as if another part of me was gone. Funny thing was, I had the best night's sleep in the hospital after the hysterectomy since my diagnosis. I felt in charge and knew I had eliminated a target place for the cancer to return.
Best wishes, Robin. I pray you get this resolved.
Vicky

thanks Hap! i am on zoladex then AI's later... not looking forward to that...:(.. these doctors just dont get it sometimes. after my bmx, my PS and OS said i should not feel pain bec TEs are over the muscle. yeah right..
-
moodyblues, blood vessels burst in one eye and then the other after TCHP # 3 or 4. They cleared up after a week. It was a bit scary as it looked bad. Hope yours heal quickly.
-
hi Vicky I'm not having any more babies neither I had my tubes tied years ago. My MO really don't want me having my ovaries out just because sending me into menopause and knowing if I have a bad time with menopause there's nothing he said that they can give me to help me through it. I don't know at this point I'm like you I'd rather them just remove everything because I'm not having any more babies. But my MO thinks with my Er and Pr hormones being a low positive that he don't think I should make that move and taking my ovaries or having a hysterectomy. But I really don't want to go back on tamoxifen and have long Cycles like that neither because when I was having long Cycles like that I was becoming anemic with all the blood loss. I've been praying about it and the Lord will lead me in the right direction I'm making the right decision. Thank you so much Vicky for your help and prayers. God bless you💗

Robin1234,
Remember these words from TonLee
"1. This person works for you. Period.
2. This isn't a car, it is YOUR BODY. You will live with the consequences long after the tech/Onc/Nurse etc go home to their families and forget about you. You have final say in what happens and what does not happen to it. Period.
3. Advocate for your body like you would a child's, a husband's, a best friend's.
4. No matter what the Dr/nurse/tech/whoever says, they are NOT the boss of you!"
....
"I understand your points. I hear you. But, this is what I've decided. Are you willing to do it?" (Be ready to move on if the professional says no.)"Her words and wisdom have kept me focused and fighting for what i wanted.

Suburbs and Posey. I use eye drops but, this keeps happening. Dr said we will just keep an 'eye' on it.,,was he trying to be funny?
He didn't seem to be worried so, I guess I shouldn't either.

MoodyBlues,
I use this: https://www.systane.com/products/systane-lubricant...
I don't get oncology humor.

Hap - You piqued my interest with this question and so I googled it and found an article entitled "Solving a Breast Cancer Mystery - Why do "double- positive women do better" but I'm on my iPad and have no clue how to copy a URL, but hopefully you can find it by the title. It was on the Cancer Research UK site.

SpecialK - thank you for the link

Vicky, I got this product when you recommended it to me a while back, it helped with the twitching right away. The blood vessels bursting just started recently. Not sure what's going on with that.
Melanie
-
Re: blood vessels - The Sloan Kettering website says that this problem can be caused by low platelets and is worth calling your doctor about
-
Melanie,
I think Lita19901 is spot on. Called your MO. You only have 2 eyes!
Vicky

Thank you Lita and Vicky.

I have a meeting with dietitian tomorrow and wonder whether there is any research why dairy products are not good for Her2 positive bc. I believe I remember someone mentioned it somewhere but I am not sure. Or is it not good for any type of bc?
-
cherry - not sure there is a Her2+ and dairy issue, I believe some feel the potential issue is more closely linked to being ER+. Since milk, and milk products, come from a lactating animal there is some thought about them being inherently estrogenic, or containing additives not good for ER+ breast cancer, like rGBH an artificial hormone that stimulates additional milk. Some people feel that using organic dairy solves this problem. Another aspect is that dairy products have proteins that can cause food allergy, intolerance, or sensitivity and this can create inflammation for some people. The link between inflammation and immune response is not yet completely clear when it comes to breast cancer, but this is a current area of study.
-
Thank you SpecialK, in that case some organic Turkish yogurt is ok? I also red somewhere that goat milk and cheese are more alcaline than usual dairy, is it possible? So, the best would be to stop consuming diary products for us TP? I just wonder where Her2 protein is coming from, is it possible to block it in some way they do with ER/PR? Any food that Her2 positive maybe better to avoid?
-
Thank you HapB, the I will stick to organic and try to reduce it to the minimum
-
SpecialK- I think you mentioned that you follow a anti-inflammatory diet. I have been reading about recommendations on this type of diet since joint pain is one of my primary side effects and also seem to be fighting weight gain like crazy. Do you have a specific diet you follow? Would love to know what has worked for you.
-
Hapb, I would do which ever you want. Most that are Trip+ follow here. As for getting emotional about posts I have decided that everyone has their own thoughts and are allowed to post them, If you do not agree then just skip those posts! Not worth the hassle anymore.
-
Its always so surprising how controversial diet can be. But just like one hormonal treatment doesn't fit all, diets are not the same for different people. I think everybody has to see what works with their body. I've been experimenting a bit. I have found that taking anti-inflammatory supplements seem to help with the joint pain, tumeric, green tea, etc. But would love to get some strategies on diet that work as well.

I would like to know what to it and what not while on Taxol. I was looking myself online and could not find anything legitimate and last Monday I asked the nurse during treatment about some products I found online. She told me not to eat grapefruit because it cam interferes with Taxol but she did not know about anything else.I am also interested about eating right after the treatment.

Hi ladies and cancer sisters and brothers...I am happily after a bit more of one year on disability and treatments finally starting a NEW job..Yes they hired me and I am celebrating. Would not have done this before so got to say, yes, this illness changes you for ever in a good way honestly. That is another plus in the unfortunate other three pluses..:) However the scare of all this happening again is hard to shake, some days better than others but still..it´s there and do not expect it to go away any time soon so accepting this fact seems logic and then try to not worry and destroy every day with something that has yet not happened.
Thought I would share a very interesting article with you found here:
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/09/11/cancers-invasion-equation?mbid=synd_digg
Comparing cancer with a lake with mussels overtaking it made such sense to me and even if immune therapy is big at the moment for more advanced cancers I thought I would share it in this forum for those that are interested. I am also interested in changing my diet but overwhelmed with all the information I find. I like to keep my lake (my body) not a good environment for cancer (mussels) to come back! Keep faith and praying for all to go threw treatment with few side-effects.
