Did anyone have an "I can do this" moment when you told yourself you were going to beat it? If so, how did you feel once you experienced that moment?

Hello allisonleigh- when I was first diagnosis, I thought life was over. However, each day I woke up and realize one morning I need to embrace this disease I had and fight harder that I ever have- and from that point, I have just embraced it (although it was tough) and did it, because I realized I had AL OT to live for and was not ready to die!

    hi allison,

well, i've had many of those "i can do this!" moments, and many despairing ones, but overall, i've felt confident. i think it comes from a convergence of factors: i've always had perfect health; never even had colds or the like); fabulous doctors; an amazing husband and support system (in-laws, friends, extended family).

i've always lived life in the moment, truly, so i guess at some level, it just seems unbelieveable that i would have to "leave the party early", as a college friend puts it. and i don't plan on going anywhere.

everyday i say to myself, "i reject cancer". and i remind myself of what i'm doing to make it happen. you can too!

    hugs

I received a card from a friend who was a nurse...

on the inside it simply said

"Take it once step at a time..."

It had one little mouse pulling another one up a very large step..

I told myself that made sense and I could do this...

    I felt determined
